Sheriff’s Report
The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Aug. 4-10, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 388 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
Aug. 9
8:01 a.m., Rapids Road, Troy. Donkey in the road. No haulter. Didn’t see anyone around. Right at the top of the hill. Deputy advised. GOA.
LITTERING
Aug. 10
4:42 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Claridon. ASAP porti-pottie truck is losing brown paper towels all over the place. Dispatch contacted the company. They will radio the driver. UTL.
SUSPICIOUS
Aug. 9
11:40 a.m., Old State Road, Hambden. Power of attorney is writing $1,500 checks to herself. JFS was notified by her bank that this was occurring. Would like someone to try see if this should be going on. Report taken. JFS opened case and will be following up.
THEFT
Aug. 9
7:30 a.m., Nash Road, Troy. Complainant advised someone stole her dog from the driveway, around 6 a.m. today. Deputy advised. Party advised she was outside putting air in her car tire while her three dogs were running outside unchained. Approximately five minutes went by and one of her dogs could not be located. Dog in question is a 5-year-old black and white aussie. Party was advised it was more likely dog ran off and was not stolen.
TRAFFIC HAZARD
Aug. 9
9:03 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. Complainant advised the flaggers do not know what they are doing. Someone needs to go and observe them or teach them how to flag. Area checked OK; no construction at intersection at this time.
