Sheriff’s Report
September 28, 2017

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Sept. 15-21, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 401 calls during this seven-day period.

PORNOGRAPHY

Sept. 15

2:05 p.m., Auburn Road, Newbury. Library. White male wearing a bandana. Far computer against the wall. Students informed the principal that this male had pornography up on the computer and a pocketknife.

SUSPICIOUS

Sept. 15

11:01 a.m., Cloverdale Drive, Middlefield. Caller stated that she arrived home and the dead bolt on her house has been locked from the inside. 10-year-old neighbor said she saw someone. Caller did not take her keys with her because she was coming right back. Curtain moved possibly someone inside. Deputy made entry. Checked residence and no one was found inside. Front door lock was found to have malfunctioned.

Sept. 17

1:27 a.m., Pioneer Road, Huntsburg. Road sign torn out at the corner of Clay and Pioneer, it was just thrown into the middle of the road. Caller states there was also a seat from a vehicle in the middle of the road. Also, some houses in the area appear to have been teepeed. Deputy advised. Mailbox damaged, large rocks were moved in front of the driveway. Clay Street/Pioneer Street sign removed from the ground.

THEFT

Sept 16

12:16 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Female was just at the BP gas station and went inside and set her purse down on the counter and left without it. She went back to get it and the clerk told her an Amish man came in and said it was his relatives and left. The clerk said he is a regular customer and they could identify who he was. It was a  coach purse with the females wallet inside.
