The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office July 8-14. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 364 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

July 11

4:46 p.m., Hospital Drive, Munson. Black Acura in color parked in the parking lot with a dog inside, windows are cracked. Deputy advised. All four windows were partially open, including the sunroof. However, the dog was panting heavily. The dog was removed from the car and given water until the owner arrived on scene. Owner warned of the issue.

BREATHING

July 14

3:16 p.m., Ledge Road, Thompson. A 4- or 5-year-old male ingested water in the pool and is having difficulty breathing. Deputy responded. CPR was performed and the child started coughing and breathing once removed from the pool. Child was underwater for not even a minute. When the child is taking deep breaths, you can hear the water in his chest. White foam is coming out of his ear; the child defecated after being pulled from the pool. Someone will be at the front to meet the ambulance. Medevac unavailable. Deputy assisted fire department; child conscious and responsive upon transport. Parents not on scene but were notified by camp counselors.

HARASSMENT

July 9

3:46 p.m., Kinsman Road, Burton. Customer keeps calling in and harassing the workers. The general manager would like it to stop. Deputy advised. Zeppe’s pizza keeps getting telephone calls from an unhappy customer. He is complaining about the meatball sub he ordered. They’ve advised him not to call the store anymore and he continues to call. Deputy called the customer and advised him not to call the business anymore or criminal charges could be filed against him. He stated he understood and would not be calling the business anymore.

LITTERING

July 11

11:48 a.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. A female was just at the park dropping off bags by the recycling bin which is full. She was told not to leave them there and just threw the bags on the ground and left. Complainant is at town hall requesting to speak to a deputy.

SUSPICIOUS

July 13

5:40 p.m., Rapids Road, Burton. Southbound on Rapids. Physicians ambulance is parked in the middle of the road and the ambulance is not occupied. The caller is an off-duty officer and he will go back to the ambulance to try to assist. The officer called back and said the crew is OK. They need law enforcement to help restrain the female. Burton police assisted prior to arrival.

THEFT

July 13

9:09 p.m., Old State Road, Parkman. Caller would like to make a report for theft. Male states his generator and two roofing guns are missing from his garage. These items were last seen on Sunday. Male did notice a window was cracked.

VAGRANCY

July 10

11:49 a.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. There is a male on site for over an hour. He is bothering the customers and asking for a ride. He has his hair pulled up and is wearing ladies make-up. Has on a baha hoodie. Deputy advised. Male refused deputies help. Male was informed business owner does not want him on the property and not to return. Male stated he was leaving to go home.
