The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office July 29 through Aug. 4. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 389 calls during this seven-day period.

BURGLARY

Aug. 3

7:06 p.m., Bundysburg Road, Parkman. Caller states they just returned from vacation. They just noticed someone broke into their old farmhouse that is on their property. The lock and chain were cut going back to the building. Caller states there are some mopeds missing. Caller states there also are some tractor attachments missing and some other items.

CITIZEN ASSIST

July 29

2:46 p.m., Auburn Road, Newbury. Caller stating his neighbor is welding a trailer and is concerned because he does not have a guard on the welder and the sparks are going on the acetylene tank. He is concerned it is going to blow up. Deputy advised. Everything is safe. Tanks are turned off.

EXTRA PATROL

Aug. 1

12:10 a.m., Old State Road, Claridon. Caller concerned kids are driving around with their off-road light bars on. Would like them spoken to and cited for inappropriate use of the light bars. Deputy did not see any vehicles with light bars.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

July 31

8:14 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Two juvenile white males are throwing rocks at township equipment at the township garage. Deputy spoke with the kids and advised them they shouldnt be on the township property. Spoke with a witness in the area who only saw the kids climbing on the rock piles.

NOISE PROBLEM

Aug. 4

12:56 a.m., Huntley Road, Huntsburg. Caller would like to log a noise complaint. There is a large party. Caller states there are cars parked all the way down the road. Deputy advised. Caller was advised of noise ordinance laws. He understands we cannot enforce the noise level, but would like a deputy to request they turn it down. Deputy advised patrons entering the party to turn it down, which they did.

SUSPICIOUS

July 31

4:49 p.m., Bundysburg Road, Huntsburg. Animals on one side of property keep passing away. A goat died last night and caller would like a report because he thinks it’s suspicious. Caller thinks they may be poisoned. Deputy advised. Complainant believes his neighbor is poisoning his animals. Advised complainant the health department will be contacted to further investigate animals living conditions.

THEFT

July 30

9″07 a.m., LaDue Trail, Auburn. Vehicle was broken into some time last night. Vehicle was locked and parked in the driveway. Caller states a 9mm gun was stolen out of the glove box. Deputy advised. The complainant didn’t see or heard anything last night. A 9mm was taken along with $20.

Aug. 2

9:08 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Theft of a scooter between 4:15-10:30 a.m. this morning from the Parkman BP. A subject in a white work van is believed to have taken the scooter, no plate, no description. Caller is now home from work and needs to report the theft.
