Sheriff’s Report
October 27, 2016

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 14-20. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 347 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Oct. 19
12:17 p.m., Old State Road, Middlefield. Complainant is requesting assistance with catching a very wild horse. She is home with two small children and is unable to catch it and she is concerned it is going to go out into the roadway. Deputy advised. Horse corralled by the owner prior to Deputies arrival.

EXTRA PATROL

Oct. 15
7:33 p.m., Bradford Drive, Munson. Caller would like extra patrol of the area. States there is a black pickup truck that keeps parking at the dad end of Bradford. Some days it sits there over night. She suspects the vehicle is up to no good. Would like extra patrol for next week. Deputy made contact with the suspicious vehicle and he is hunting in the area. He has a license for nuisance, everything checks okay.

NOISE PROBLEM

Oct. 16
6:36 p.m., Sidley Road, Thompson. Caller states there is a big party halfway down the strip in the grass area. The party is very loud and has been going on all day. She advised the strip is closed and not sure if they should be there. Deputy advised. Kings of Ohio event clearing out.

SUSPICIOUS

Oct. 18
8:04 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Two males are sitting in a dark Jeep in the parking lot of the Democratic Party Office. They are screaming profanities at the members. The caller is going to leave and would like the males to be told to leave. They are not wanted on the private property. Deputy responded. No Jeep or males standing outside the Democratic storefront or anywhere else on the property.

THREATENING

Oct. 20
2:28 p.m., Leader Road, Hambden. Windstream working in backyard when homeowner approached and was upset that he was on their property. He advised he was utility worker from Windstream and the guy was aggressive and had an axe in his hand. Also at one point the wife was also out. Deputy advised. Windstream manager is also on location. No threats were made, male stated that he did move an axe from the porch to his truck following the dispute. Both parties spoke together and the situation was resolved. Resident stated that he is going to take the issue of Windstream being on his property up with the park management.
