The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 4-10. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 265 calls during this seven-day period.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Nov. 5

3:52 p.m., Knotty Pine Lane, Hambden. Neighbors are cutting down trees and they are falling on the caller’s property. When I arrived he observed the neighbors cutting trees and they appeared to be in their side of the property line. I then went to the complainant’s house and she was backing out of the driveway. I spoke with her and she stated to speak with her husband. I spoke with husband who was very rude. Husband stated neighbor was dropping trees on his property and he had pulled them back before I arrived. Husband said he wanted them to stop and if neighbor came back on his property he wanted him charged with trespassing. Spoke with the neighbor who stated a tree branch landed on complainant’s property so he removed it. Neighbor was advised of the complaint and asked to stay off complainant’s property.

Nov. 6

3:18 p.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Neighbor dispute. Neighbor came over regarding dogs barking. He kicked one of them and threatened me. Deputy advised. Verbal dispute between neighbors; advice given to both parties. Neighbor was advised he was not welcome on caller’s property again. Will comply.

Nov. 7

3:40 p.m., Wayne Lane, Hambden. Roto Rooter on scene and did a job. Client is now refusing to pay. Deputy spoke with property manager who advised she would forward the receipt to the property owner in Michigan for payment. Roto Rooter advised this would be OK as long as they got paid. Received a receipt for the work. Clear.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

Nov. 4

6:06 a.m., Mayfield Road, Huntsburg. Caller states her husband tried to punch her in the face and threw food at her. Two children over 10. Female left the property, hung up. Now on phone with the male. Caller states argument started because they turned the heat up to 75 degrees and they opened their windows. Caller states this happens often. Male states a few days ago his wife and children were flipping tables and hitting holes in the wall. Male states he threatened to call the cops, went outside to cool off and when he came back in they cleaned everything up. Caller states they put “cat shit” in his pillow. Caller states when the argument heated up the female picked up a burrito that had been sitting on the counter for the past day and threw it at him. He picked it up and threw it back at her. Male states they do not have any weapons that are “unlocked;” they are all located in a gun safe and she does not have access. Male states these problems began about four years ago when his wife began taking Xanax. Male states her behavior gets out of control when she drinks. Caller states daughter often gets involved in the disputes also and it’s the daughter who has kicked holes in the walls. Female states she would like to file a report. Female party on post to speak with a deputy.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Nov. 6

5:13 p.m., Briarwood Avenue, Newbury. 19-year-old female, eight months pregnant, was struck in the face by boyfriend. Male has left property and is at grandparents’ house in Euclid. Refused medical attention. Deputies arrived on scene. Female would not provide any details on incident. Female did not have any visible injuries and refused all information.

FRAUD

Nov. 4

4:13 p.m., Mock Orange Circle, Auburn. Caller states she was scammed on the computer, a total of $400. The company is Myphonessupport.com. She would like to make a report and speak to a deputy. Deputy advised.

Nov. 7

5:53 p.m., Hayes Road, Middlefield. Someone has taken over my computer.

Nov. 8

5:26 p.m., Edgewater Drive, Newbury. Female signed my name on the taxes to get her more money. IRS advised to fill out a police report. Report taken.

INTOXICATED PERSON

Nov. 5

5:31 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Caller states he believes the female employee at Sunmart is highly intoxicated. Caller also thinks she is high on something. Caller thinks she may be overdosing. Deputy responded. Single female clerk appeared intoxicated and admitted to drinking before coming into work. Storeowner was contacted and responded to store to take responsibility of the store. Clerk was picked up by a friend.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

Nov. 8

7:41 a.m., Linda Drive, Newbury. 12-year-old son won’t go to school. Breaking things in the house. Deputy advised. Child was upset because his parents are going through a divorce. Child left for school with his mother.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Nov. 10

12:53 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Caller reports his neighbors’ goats are damaging the property. Goats in barn. Owner offered to fix fence.

SUSPICIOUS

Nov. 4

6:56 p.m., Tavern Road, Burton. South of Tavern with a male blowing leaves into the roadway. Had male clear off the roadway. Advised him not to do this again. Was causing a traffic hazard.

Nov. 8

6:27 a.m., Tavern Road, Burton. Northbound on Jug, halfway between Hubbard and 168. White male approximately 6’0” tall acting weird. On the side of the road, walking way down in the ditch. Very dirty. Holding a lighter up in the air. Male is now coming up to 168. Caller can no longer see the male; no ideas what direction he went. Caller states something with the male just didn’t seem right. Caller is a retired officer and something doesn’t seem right about the male. Male from crash last night located. State patrol contacted and they took the male.

Nov. 10

9:23 a.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. Bag of lunch that one of the kids brought in smells of “weed” and they would like to speak with a deputy about it.

THEFT

Nov. 9

2:57 p.m., Water Street, Chardon. Female ran out of store with arms full of merchandize got into a Chevy truck. One female in custody and transported to county jail.

THREATENING

Nov. 9

9:47 p.m., Leader Road, Hambden. Caller states his daughter was on Facebook and saw a post from a Chardon High School student threatening to kill another student. Report to follow.

TRAFFIC CRASH

Nov. 4

7:23 a.m., Taylor May Road, Auburn. Someone left a battery in the roadway and I hit it. It exploded and there is acid all over the roadway. I will need a report for damage to my vehicle. Report taken.

8:06 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Hit-skip, dark colored Jeep. They continued southbound on Auburn Road. Younger Asian male. Newer model Jeep, either black or dark blue. I’m in a Honda minivan. The entire back end of my car is damaged. Bainbridge PD advised.

VANDALISM

Nov. 8

10:04 p.m., Bean Road, Munson. In Nero Preserve there is a car doing donuts and causing damage. A second vehicle just pulled in. Vehicles are turned off now. Report to follow. One female arrested for drug trafficking and more. One male arrested for trespass and more.

WEAPON OFFENSE

Nov. 5

1:32 p.m., Old State Road, Parkman. Shooting somewhere behind my house. Concerned with the horse that was shot and killed last week that something is not right back there. Deputy advised. No answer at complainant’s house. Checked area. UTL.
