Sheriff’s Report
February 9, 2017

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 27 to Feb. 2, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 312 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Jan. 27

1:14 p.m., Kile Road, Claridon. The caller stated that her neighbors chickens wont leave her barn. This is an ongoing problem. The roosted caused physical injuries to the caller. Deputy attempted contact with the neighbors. Left note for them to contact the deputy.

EXTRA PATROL

Jan. 31

9:03 a.m., Overture Drive, Newbury. Complainant is requesting extra patrol. He is concerned for his safety due to locking out a squatter from his rental in Cleveland. He is concerned because the squatter has a criminal history and is going to be upset when he cannot get his belongings out. The actual rental had allowed this subject to live there and has moved out and asked the complainant to change the locks. Complainant was also advised to contact a lawyer about returning the belongings to the subject.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Jan. 28

10:33 a.m., Regent Park Drive, Munson. The caller stated his mailbox keeps getting egged. The caller would like to meet with a deputy. The caller believes it might be the neighbors. Deputy spoke with the complainant who advised his mailbox was egged for the third time, however he had no suspects in mind. Advice was given and nothing further requested.

SUSPICIOUS

Jan. 27

10:39 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. An African American male that lives in a trailer behind him put a gun to his head. This was an altercation with dogs. The caller does not know his name. The caller is intoxicated. He hung up on dispatch.

Jan. 31

11:30 a.m., Burton Windsor Road, Burton. 20+ minutes ago and two weeks ago, male with a bandana and long blonde hair walked through complainants yard very close to the house. He was walking westbound. Deputy spoke with the caller, followed the footprints, which went past several neighbors houses back into the woods. No one was at the shop to speak with. The prints appeared to stop in the parking lot. Caller was advised. One of the neighbors called in advising that they found out the male had lost his dog and they had been tracking it causing footprints.

THEFT

Jan. 30

7:07 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Troy. Caller states a contractor was paid to do work and then never showed up to perform the work. He was paid $7,750. They do have paperwork and all the receipts to show the transactions. Also have the contract.
