Sheriff’s Report
The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 10-16, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 275 calls during this seven-day period.
FRAUD
Nov. 16
1:49 p.m., Frazier Drive, Munson. The caller was scammed out of $2,000 by phone. Dispatch met with the complainant in regards to a scam advising her granddaughter needed $2,300 for bail. Complainant sent the money, via moneygram. After speaking with the family, complainant learned that it was a scam and was able to cancel the moneygram and get her money back. Complainant just wanted incident on file.
NOISE
Nov.16
9:10 p.m., Munn Road, Auburn. The old Johnsonite Building, they run something that vibrates all the houses. Caller would just like them to know the people in Auburn Lakes can’t sleep at night. Deputy spoke to management. They are aware of the complaint. They requested we inform the caller to contact them tomorrow and they can attempt to resolve this situation.
SUSPICIOUS
Nov. 16
10:05 a.m., Colchester Drive, Auburn. There is a suspicious blue Toyota with a white male sitting in it. The vehicle has been parked on the cauldesac of Derbyshire Estates since 8:30 this morning. The male is all dressed in black. He did get out to smoke a cigarette and then got back in. The vehicle started to move, he might be with a landscape company. Deputy responded, party is working with a landscaper cutting grass. Stated they will be done in about an hour.
THEFT
Nov. 15
10:16 a.m., Fowlers Mill Road, Munson. Theft of mailbox post yesterday afternoon. Caller wants to see someone. He believes he knows who took it. Dispatch responded to location and met with complainant. Complainant advised the Munson Road Dept. took his 6×6 wood pole after they completed roadwork in the area. Complainant further stated that he would like it back and the incident on file at the Sheriffs Office. I then spoke to the Road Dept. who advised they will contact the complainant and bring back the wood pole.
