Sheriff’s Report
November 30, 2017

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 17-23, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 384 calls during this seven-day period.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Nov. 22

9:02 p.m., Thompson Road, Thompson. Caller states her dog was taken from her house Nov. 16. She has located the dog, a small Chihuahua mix. She has pictures to prove it’s hers. She is requesting a deputy assist her at the residence. She saw an ad in the News Harold for the dog. She is an emotional support dog and the caller has the certificate. Female googled the phone number on the ad and it returns to Painesville and she does not need our assistance.

EXTRA PATROL

Nov. 18

12:48 p.m., Berkshire Drive, Aquilla. Caller believes there are kids ringing her doorbell and running away. She stated it happened again for the 2nd time last night and would just like the area patrolled between the times it has been happening which is between 7-10 p.m.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Nov. 17

1:14 p.m., Main Market Road, Troy. The caller has a gas well at this location. There was a tree on the road. A farmer came out and beat the caller’s truck hood. The farmer is still there. Deputy advised. The farmer is now cleaning up the dead tree that was in the road.

SUSPICIOUS

Nov. 21

7:27 a.m., Frostwood Drive, Auburn. At the beginning of the street a dump truck has been there for over a week, buses have a hard time getting around it. Deputy advised. White dump truck parked in front of a new residence under construction. Nobody is working at the house. No telephone number listed for the owner of the truck. Vehicle not a hazard and cars and busses can pass without any problems.

Nov. 23

5:17 p.m., Clay St., Huntsburg. Sometime last night someone came into the caller’s house and assaulted his 16 year old daughter. His daughter states this person was touching her face and kissing her. She was unable to wake up and cannot identify this male. Deputy advised. Advice given.

THREATENING

Nov. 20

9:55 a.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Complainant was previously arrested for domestic violence. He reported he received a screen shot of a snap chat message containing a photo of a headstone reading his name and “murdered fed through a wood chipper” which was posted by the female involved in the case. Complainant asked for the incident to be documented due to concern for his safety. Male was advised to file a report with Geneva on the Lake Police Department.

TRAFFIC CRASH

Nov. 22

11:28 p.m., Music St., Newbury. Two-car crash at the intersection of Music St. and Overture Drive. Caller states she heard one of the occupants say something about being inebriated. Caller advised she was outside walking her dog when it occurred, and she heard them yelling; now the vehicles are gone. Possibly a small pick-up involved. Caller thinks they may have went east of Music. Deputy checked the area, unable to locate.

VANDALISM

Nov. 22

10:25 a.m., Cloverdale Drive, Middlefield. Someone put a chocolate bar in the gas tank and also something is leaking from the vehicle. Deputy advised. Sometime overnight someone put chocolate and diesel fuel in the complainant’s fuel tank.
