The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 12-18, 2018. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 374 calls during this seven-day period.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE
Oct. 13
3:08 a.m., Leggett Road, Montville. Male states his wife is drunk and stupid, then hung up. Female highly intoxicated, yelling and throwing things. No children, weapons in the house. She’s in the bedroom. Male caller has had a couple beers. Female has had some beers and a couple shots; he does not want to get her in trouble because she’s been in jail before. No violence or threats of violence, and both parties advised they were OK to stay in house together. Advice given. Both parties going to bed.
SUSPICIOUS
Oct. 14
3:22 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. A resident at assisted living facility thinks someone is smoking pot and drinking illegal moonshine. Deputy spoke with caller and staff. His concerns were noted and staff advised. No suspicious odor was detected.
THEFT
Oct. 12
6:45 p.m., Hunt Road, Huntsburg. Caller would like to make a report for missing guns, hunting equipment, generator and some other property. He believes it was taken sometime last week.
Oct. 18
2:22 p.m., Stafford Road, Auburn. Employee theft of approximately $31,000 in materials. Report taken.
TRESPASSING
Oct. 18
11:01 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Hambden. Neighbor is on his property again. He was yelling at the 4-year-old child. They were just in court the other day due to the harassment and trespassing. Caller wants the neighbor cited. Deputy advised.
VANDALISM
Oct. 12
9:43 a.m., Woodin Road, Hambden. A ball valve was opened sometime last night in the water house and drained the water tanks. No signs of forced entry were found at the water house and it was unknown if the water house was secured. Clear.
