The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 26 through Nov. 1, 2018. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 366 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Oct. 26

12:41 a.m., Ravenna Road, Auburn. 8-10 cows are out in the roadway. Deputy advised. State is going to handle.

Oct. 29

11:17 a.m., Princeton Road, Huntsburg. Next neighbor south has 12-15 sheep laying on her barn ramp right next to the road and she doesn’t have any sheep. Maybe deputy can come here and find out whom they belong to. Sheep are located.

FRAUD

Oct. 27

1:08 p.m., Washington Street, Auburn. Caller gave someone her credit card over the phone. She realizes now it was a fraud call. Caller canceled their credit card; just wanted the incident documented.

Oct. 30

6:02 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Burton. Caller would like to report his computer was hacked. He received a call today from someone claiming to be a company that does updates on his computer and caller thought it was legitimate. Now he is locked out of his computer and believes they are stealing all his information. Caller accidentally gave out his information to an unknown person to fix his computer. Caller was in process of closing bank accounts and setting alerts upon arrival. Advice given.

Oct. 31

4:30 p.m., Clay Street, Huntsburg. Responded to location and met with complainant, who advised a company named CBD Ongoing Award said he won $100,000, but had to pay the fees worth $400 in iTunes gift cards. Complainant further said it occurred last night and today he checked the cards and noticed they were already spent. Complainant and his father said it was a learning experience, but would like the incident on file. Advice given.

ROAD RAGE

Oct. 30

12:43 p.m., Gingerich Road, Burton. Headed southbound on 168 from Gingerich Road. A male on a blue Harley motorcycle threatened caller. Male threatened to kill caller and he said his son is a local cop. Caller is going back to his office in Middlefield Village. Officer can come there to file the report. Male stated if a motorcycle shows up to his house he will protect his family. Caller is highly upset he was requested to stop following the motorcycle and speak with the officer. Report taken.

SUSPICIOUS

Oct. 30

10:28 a.m., Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. In the window on the trailer at the northwest corner there is a sign in big red letters that says, “Help Me.” Not sure what’s going on. Deputy advised. Halloween decorations.

THEFT

Oct. 26

2:52 p.m., Washington Street, Auburn. Theft of $3,200 from the cash drawer. Found it missing while counting the drawer. Report taken.

Oct. 30

11:58 a.m., Madison Road, Middlefield. Complainant in lobby for theft report. Had some old coins stolen in June, possibly by her grandson. Just wanted to check at pawnshop for coins. No one pawned them at Geauga Pawn. Complainant did not want anything further.

VANDALISM

Oct. 26

9:28 a.m., Bean Road, Munson. Responded to location and met with complainants, who advised they mow the grass at the park and wanted to report someone turfed the grass and spray painted some signs. No evidence or suspects. Report on file.
