The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 31 through June 6, 2019. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 402 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
June 2
10:44 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Claridon. Caller advised he found a baby deer on his front porch and he advised he called animal control and got no answer. Caller advised he doesn’t want the mother deer to attack his kids; requested an officer response. Deputy advised.
June 5
1:16 p.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Just witnessed someone hit a couple of ducks and toss them off the side of the roadway. I’m sitting here with them until an officer can get here. Four baby geese were struck by a vehicle; two DOA and two were euthanized.
ASSAULT
June 1
12:55 a.m., Zenith Drive, Newbury. Caller advised a male riding on a 4-wheeler punched him in the face. Male bleeding and requesting a squad. Caller advised male ran over him with the 4-wheeler. Caller advised male was intoxicated. Caller advised he has a sword for protection; he advised it’s put away. Report taken.
CITIZEN DISPUTE
June 3
7:17 a.m., Elm Drive, Newbury. Neighbor is here again beeping her horn and won’t leave the property. Deputy advised. Woman wanted to speak with president of the association regarding a contract to rent the hall (ongoing issue). She was advised the contract is in her husband’s name and further not to come to house again or she could be charged with trespassing.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE
June 4
8:59 p.m., Taylor May Road, Auburn. Male’s father came to his house drunk and pushed him. Left in pickup truck. Caller believes his father went home. Father arrested for OVI.
HARASSMENT
June 4
2:17 p.m., Burlington Ridge Drive, Munson. Harassment in lobby. Deputy spoke with homeowner who advised his neighbor threw grass clippings onto his mulch bed. This was done by a lawn mower. Advice provided. Documentation only.
SUSPICIOUS
May 31
12:48 a.m., South Springdale Avenue, Middlefield. Near the buggy parking there are about five kids partying, drinking and yelling. Deputy transporting three juveniles home. See report.
June 5
5:12 p.m., Kinsman Road, Burton. Someone keeps flying a drone over the property and scaring his sheep. One of the sheep is now injured from running. Caller would like to know if it is legal to shoot the drone from the sky. Thinks it is coming from the Western Reserve park. Unknown from where the drone is flying. Caller advised not to shoot the drone from the sky. Advice given.
THEFT
June 1
10:59 a.m., Kevin Lane, Hambden. Cleaning lady has been stealing jewelry. Report taken.
THREATENING
June 5
5:34 p.m., Big Creek Ridge Drive, Hambden. Female in lobby to make report. Complainant advised a male has continued to text her after she asked him to stop. Advised complainant to block number and also spoke with male and advised him to stop contacting complainant.
VANDALISM
June 4
7:40 p.m., View Drive, Newbury. His brother/neighbor bulldozed over trees on his property. Report to follow.
