AGENCY ASSIST
May 30
8:51 p.m., West Third Street, Cleveland. Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance from any available units for riot control. Assisted.
June 1
11:41 a.m., East Erie Street, Painesville. SWAT request from LCSO due to protest that is starting at 2 p.m.
ALARM – BUSINESS
May 31
10:24 a.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. Windows smashed at Hambden Elementary. Out with kids, possible suspects. Parents responded to location. Chardon superintendent responded and requested the juveniles clean up the broken glass and pay for the damages. Parents provided contact information. Advice given.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
May 30
2:52 p.m., Hosmer Road, Parkman. Horse running down the road south on 528 from Hosmer. Deputy checked area and advised owner had the horse.
ASSAULT
May 31
5:05 p.m., Auburn Road, Munson. Male in lobby to report an assault. His daughter was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend while at a party in Newbury last night. She sustained a concussion when he slammed her onto the ground. Female already had medical treatment. Deputy advised. Father wanted advice. Advice given.
CITIZEN ASSIST
May 29
9:05 a.m., Burton Windsor Road, Middlefield. Caller from Warren said he took his car salvage yard to be repaired sometime in the last two or three years, and they scrapped it out. Would like to speak to a deputy. Second call from salvage yard stating male keeps calling and accusing owner of taking his vehicle. Salvage yard has no record of caller’s vehicle being brought to their location. Caller advised to file a report with Warren police due to his vehicle being taken from Warren.
DISABLED VEHICLE
May 30
10:44 p.m., Mumford Road, Troy. Black Ford, one occupant. Male stopped at side of roadway to rinse his eyes out with water. Male had mace in his eyes from the protest in Cleveland. Male refused rescue squad. Male on his way.
DRUGS
May 29
4:48 p.m., Clay Street, Huntsburg. Caller advised sister-in-law was there yesterday and gave his wife a sandwich baggie with an “edible” in it and caller would like GCSO to come check it out to see what type of drug it is. He is advising it is a brown paste. Deputy advised. Possible drug seized for destruction.
EXTRA PATROL
May 31
7:51 p.m., Valley Road, Auburn. Caller’s “Black Lives Matter” sign was shot up in her yard. She does not want to meet with a deputy at this time; she is requesting extra patrol. Caller plans on replacing the sign, but thinks this may happen again.
FRAUD
June 1
3:21 p.m., Old State Road, Parkman. Caller said she saw a house on Craigslist to rent. Somebody sent an application form for her to fill out and asked that she with bitcoin. Caller knew it was a scam and did not send the person anything. She wanted GCSO to be aware of incident in case anyone falls for the scam.
June 4
2:13 p.m., Parkwood Lane, Chardon. Woman was scammed for some money from someone claiming to be her grandchild. She sent $9,500 via FedEx yesterday. They called today wanting another $7,000, but she did not send it. She sent money to 1013 North 32nd St., Cambden, N.J. Address is a parking lot. Contacted FedEx and they advised caller needs to call customer service and cancel the order. Advised caller of findings and requested she call FedEx. FedEx canceled order and package us back en route to caller, who was advised about future fraud calls.
INFO REPORT
May 31
2:06 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Caller said she received a call from someone stating people are trying to get GCSO deputies’ home addresses released so protesters can go to their homes. Dispatch spoke with female who said he saw it on Facebook. She has since deactivated her Facebook account. She saw it on a group called Chardon Memes. Sergeant has been made aware of situation. If any additional credible information is received, call sergeant and make him aware.
NOISE PROBLEM
May 30
10:23 p.m., Wing Road, Auburn. Caller reports a party of 40-50 underage people. Deputy advised. 20 kids hiding in the woods. Homeowner was advised of complaint and said he would shut the party down and turn the music off.
SUSPICIOUS
May 29
12:40 a.m., Woodin Road, Hambden. Caller states someone hacked into his 12-year-old sister’s Snap Chat account. Spoke with sister and her mother, and told her Snap Chat account was hacked and someone was posting nude pictures on her account. Girl has changed her password and took pictures down. Girl told if she has a Facebook account she also should change that password. Mother asked incident be documented.
THEFT
May 31
6:47 p.m., South Springdale Avenue, Middlefield. White male switched tickets and destroying merchandise. At self-checkout. Now. He is with another white male and girl. Male taken into custody for theft at Walmart. Answered “yes” to coronavirus questions at Geauga County Safety Center. Transported to Middlefield PD, where he was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.
THREATENING
June 3
8:56 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Two males, 18 or older, advised they are going to come back to Dollar General tomorrow and bust windows during the protest. Juveniles left on foot westbound. Employees have never seen the males before. Store manager just wanted GCSO to be aware of incident. Advice given.
WARRANT SERVICE
June 1
7:04 a.m., Main Street, Conneaut. Male was picked up on warrant. His medical screen showed he may have had exposure to COVID-19. Warrant was removed and male was advised to contact court in next two weeks. Male was taken to noted location for a ride and said he would call a doctor and then call court.
