The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 6-12, 2020.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Nov. 7

1:46 p.m., U.S. 422, Auburn. On 422 at the Munn Road overpass there is a cow in the roadway. Checked 422 UTL a cow.

Nov. 10

1:47 p.m., Dora Drive, Newbury. Pony running in the roadway. Unknown where it belongs. Donkey was put back into red barn on Kinsman Road. Black pony not located.

ASSAULT

Nov. 7

2:44 p.m., Burton Windsor Road, Huntsburg. Boys piled on me and started beating me up. Not injured and caller refused rescue and assistance. Verbal dispute between brothers. Advice given to all parties.

DISORDERLY

Nov. 7

5:15 p.m., S. Springdale Avenue, Middlefield. Gold Kia at Walmart. Male threw female on the ground. Male still in car, female went into the store. Now they are breaking glass. See report.

EXTRA PATROL

Nov. 6

11:32 a.m., Farley Road, Parkman. Guy in a yellow vest was in our backyard yesterday asking caller’s daughter questions about who lived there and who her parents were. He said he was from CEI but caller called them and they stated they did not have any employees in the area yesterday. Would like extra patrol. He was possibly driving a white truck that was parked down the street.

FRAUD

Nov. 12

10:40 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Landscaping company says one of its customers received an email from someone posing as the company that wanted customer to send payments to different bank information. Customer called to confirm and found out company was not changing bank information. Business already has contacted its IT person to fix problem and will notify other customers of scam if needed at that time. Business wanted incident documented in case it has other issues.

NOISE PROBLEM

Nov. 7

7:06 p.m., Lucky Bell Lane, Newbury. Loud music in the area. Deputy spoke to homeowner who was having his daughter’s wedding at their house due to the wedding venue where the wedding was supposed to be shutting down. Deputy told they will turn music down.

SUSPICIOUS

Nov. 10

8:07 a.m., Bundysburg Road. Between Bundysburg and Hayes there is an Amish man hitchhiking. Deputy responded and observed no one walking.

THEFT

Nov. 7

10:20 p.m., Sperry Road, Newbury. Caller needs to make a report for theft. He is advising someone has siphoned gas from his vehicles overnight. He does not know when this occurred. Deputy advised. Caller had two hand tools stolen from his detached garage and gasoline stolen from his truck. Report to follow.

Nov. 8

9:35 a.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. Theft of firewood. Light colored SUV observed twice taking firewood, once last night and once this morning. White male in his 40s. Documentation only; extra patrol requested.

11:25 a.m., Crimson King Trail. Complainant reported his sign was stolen earlier in the year and it looks like the kid came back and took caller’s little sign because he could not carry the big one. Possibly lives on street. Complainant has video. Deputy responded. Sign taken by neighbor’s kid. Young male and parents came up and both parties decided to handle among themselves.

Nov. 9

1:07 p.m., Brakeman Road, Hambden. Theft of catalytic converters. Report taken.

THREATENING

Nov. 6

9:48 a.m., Industrial Circle, Parkman. Someone wrote a message in the bathroom that a bomb is going to go off in the building at 11:15 today. Female was terminated by business and advised not to return to business by responding deputy or she would be charged with trespassing. Report taken.

7:41 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Caller advised he gave vehicle to a male to fix and male never fixed it and refused to return it. Caller is at the business to meet with male and get keys back. When male approached the caller he had the keys in his hand but refused to turn them over. He then threatened caller and said he had a 357 magnum in his waistband behind his back. He then ran into the woods. Caller did not want to pursue charges, just wanted his vehicle. Back. Caller called for a tow truck to remove vehicle from the scene.

TRESPASSING

Nov. 9

12:26 p.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. Caller has camera footage of her neighbor on her property with a gun, tearing down signs sometime this week. Complainant just wanted it documented the neighbor has been hunting on their land without permission and destroying no trespassing signs.

Nov. 12

11:47 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. Caller says there are two men in her yard at Rustic Pines with shotguns and dogs. Hunting and shooting the guns.
