The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 11-17, 2020.

ANIMAL BITE

Dec. 16

6:09 p.ml, Overlook Road, Munson. Amazon driver was bit on the boot from a dog. She fell and hurt her wrist. She is not hurt from the dog bite and declined rescue for the wrist. Deputy advised.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Dec. 11

9:29 p.m., Stoney Springs, Claridon. Caller almost hit a cow in the roadway on Taylor Wells. Owner en route to get cow with feed to remove the cows. Deputy responded. No cows in roadway or in yards.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Dec. 14

3:09 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Male first said he needed to make a statement to the deputy who responded to an assault at 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning at 322 & 44. Then he insisted someone go and take photos of his face from that incident per the advice of his lawyer. Deputy responded and complainant refused to write a statement and told deputy to speak with his attorney. He advised he was assaulted and presented with two black eyes. He said he was at work since Thursday and has no car which is why he waited until today to call.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Dec. 15

12:06 p.m., Snow Road, Newbury. Neighbors’ horses got out last night and messed in the neighbor’s yard. Complainant said this is an ongoing problem. Owner will not keep them contained and horses are damaging the yard. Message left for horse owner to contact responding officer when she gets home.

6:10 p.m., Thompson Road, Thompson. Caller had one of the campers cut his electrical box. Unknown weapons, unknown alcohol, unknown drugs. Mentor PD to meet Thompson PD. Camper has a failure to appear for obstructing official business, resisting arrest, falsification, RSP, DUS and fictitious plates. Cautions for violent tendencies.

FRAUD

Dec. 11

11:29 a.m., Auburn Glen Drive, Auburn. Caller’s employer says some filed for unemployment in caller’s name. Fraud attempt never went through and it was transferred to state of Ohio. Report to follow.

Dec. 14

6:30 pm., Kensington Court, Auburn. Caller was robbed three years ago in Las Vegas and his ID and Social Security card were stolen. He received a call from Milwaukee PD stating they arrested a male that had a picture of  his ID and Social Security Card on his phone. Caller advised to check his credit and found a Cox cable account opened in his name at an apartment in Las Vegas. Report to follow.

Dec. 17

3:46 p.m., Wintergreen Drive, Chardon. Someone filed for unemployment in caller’s name. Caller is not out any money and was sent a debit card that was opened in her name. Caller requested IR for documentation only. Advice given to set alerts on credit bureaus.

HARASSMENT

Dec. 11

11:17 a.m., Turner Drive, Aquilla. Resident on Turner is harassing caller’s girlfriend. Ongoing issues. Caller says neighbor was videotaping her, staring at her and it is making caller uncomfortable. She would like a deputy that won’t “look at her like she is dumb.” No threats made by either party. Advice given.

SUSPICIOUS

Dec. 16

11:59 a.m., Quail Woods Drive, Chardon. Traps with mice in them at the mailbox and can in the yard. Advice given. Complainant is installing cameras.

THEFT

Dec. 14

10:31 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Theft of three catalytic converters. Report taken.

Dec. 17

5:24 a.m., Bainbridge Road, Auburn. Someone attempted to break into the garage and a car unsuccessfully, but did get into SUV. They took a pair of high-end sunglasses, cash and some other items. Caller can see their footprints across the neighbor’s yard and into the street. Deputy advised. Caller’s husband followed the tracks and they went to a house and the front door to a house with all the lights on. Money was stolen out of two vehicles and footprints indicated the suspects approached other vehicles.

10:18 a.m., Bainbridge Road, Auburn. Someone went in caller’s car overnight and stole some faucets. Tracks in snow. Caller had time to go through his plumbing inventory and now believes all his faucets are there. Advice given to lock vehicle.

10:22 a.m., Washington Street, Auburn. Someone tried to get into his vehicles last night. He has not noticed anything taken, only footprints around the vehicles.

6 p.m., Bainbridge Road, Auburn. Caller’s son had his car broken into last night. Approximately $300 and fireworks taken out of his unlocked car. No suspects. Advice given.

TRESPASSING

Dec. 14

10:11 p.m., Robinson Road, Chardon. Truck just pulled through caller’s property to drive back by the power lines. Caller thinks they are poaching. They use a 4-wheeler that’s on the back of their truck. Per deputy, see if Painesville can locate the truck, stop and hold driver, possibly armed. Try to separate male from vehicle and if it is located Geauga deputy will go there. Truck license plate returns to a 72-year-old female from Painesville City.
