The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office March 12-18, 2021.
CITIZEN ASSIST
March 12
10:43 a.m., Thomas Drive, Middlefield. Caller needs assistance with her stove disconnected. Gas already turned off. House is a mess. Caller is trying to clean and there are dead mice under the stove so she needs it moved to get the dead mice. Caller referred to JFS for held at home.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
March 16
5:40 p.m., Bartholomew Road, Auburn. Domestic between husband and wife. Wife punched husband in the face. No alcohol or drugs, no weapons. They were having an argument over a phone call with their son. She tore the caller’s shirt, too. Parties are separated. Jail has been notified. Wife arrested for DV.
FRAUD
March 16
11:45 a.m., S. Wintergreen Drive, Chardon. Online scam/fraud occurred last year or so. Deputy advised. Male was scammed out of $40,000 on the internet from providing gift cards to females. Report to follow once information obtained.

JUVENILE PROBLEM
March 14
1:33 p.m., Williams Road, Hambden. Teenage male out of control and hitting parents. No weapons. Son currently is in living room. Caller is in bedroom. Deputy arrested son for domestic violence and disorderly conduct. Deputy transported son to juvenile detention center where he was turned over to staff without incident. See report.
OVERDOSE
March 16
2:24 a.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. 18-year-old called 911 reporting she took 3-4 Parkinson’s bill that she stole from her grandparents last night in an attempt to get high. She is not feeling well. Just after taking the pills she felt sick and began to vomit, so she called 911. Caller said she did not take the pills to harm herself, but to get high. Caller transported to hospital.
SUSPICIOUS
March 12
4:55 p.m., Grant Street, Hambden. Tan Chevy Suburban, black male driver approached the female who was sitting in her car eating ice cream with her son. He started talking to her and then took several photos. Caller left 10 minutes ago and male was still there. She does not want to meet with a deputy, but would like them to check the area. Gone on arrival.
March 13
8:27 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Male making inappropriate remarks to a female at Mangia, Mangia. Deputy advised.
March 17
10:23 a.m., Bell Street, Newbury. On Bell, just east of Munn on the north side, caller advised the American flag is upside down, which due to being in the military, caller advised means someone may be in distress.
