The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office April 23-29, 2021.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

April 28

12:29 p.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Black Silverado in the back parking lot has a dog inside. Windows are barely down and truck has been parked there for over 30 minutes. Dog is whimpering and barking. Deputy spoke with truck owner and the complaint was explained him. He was told he cannot leave the dog unattended in such a manner. Male is now in the truck with the dog and waiting for his wife to complete her appointment.

CITIZEN ASSIST

April 29

4:54 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Caller struck an owl with his vehicle and it is still alive inside his grill. Does not feel safe removing it. Owl was turned over to park maintenance and they will give it to the one in charge of injured animals when she comes in.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

April 26

1:14 p.m., Longview Drive, Newbury. Caller at her son’s house and he has a male living there that caller said pulled a gun on her and told her to get out of the house. Caller does not want male there and was advised she would have to evict them. Conflicting statements about any gun being involved. Advice given at this time.

April 27

9:37 a.m., Burton Windsor Road, Middlefield. Caller wants to speak to a deputy about a customer he no longer wants to come there anymore. Dispute between business owner and customer about the customer placing bricks in a bag to add to the weight of his scrap. Advice given.

DISORDERLY

April 26

2:22 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Would like to file a report regarding a male who urinated in the store last night. Older male in this 50s or 60s. Urinated at the counter while standing there. Another patron standing behind the male saw him urinate and saw his private part. Male told not to return. Photos of the male and his vehicle provided.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

April 28

5:30 p.m., Madison Road, Thompson. Silver Honda Accord, shirtless male hitting and trying to drag a female from the car by her legs. Car was pulled into the drive and female is sitting in backseat. Upon deputy arrival vehicle was not located. Security camera footage shows the silver car, but there is no other camera footage of the incident. Welfare check BOLO was sent to surrounding agencies with all available information.

FOUND PROPERTY

April 25

7:53 p.m., Main Market Road, Auburn. Man on bridge fished out of Lake LaDue some car parts. He and his friends were magnet fishing off the causeway and fished out three pieces belonging to a car: a rim, possible piece to a suspension and a license plate. Items collected and entered into evidence.

FRAUD

April 24

10:17 a.m., Oakstone Trail, Chardon. Someone hacked into her account and purchased an Xbox. Need IR to stop a purchase on her account.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

April 23

2:27 p.m., Sidley Road, Thompson. Teenage male being aggressive, he is breaking things. Male is sitting down now, but will be aggressive when deputies there. Got in trouble in school, had a beer on him. Male is yelling in background. Male ripped phone out of mom’s hand. Broke doors off his closet. Unknown drug or alcohol use.

LITTERING

April 25

11:47 a.m., Bass Lake Road, Newbury. Came home from vacation and found several items on his property. Water softener, bicycle, etc.

April 29

10:35 a.m., Mayfield Road, Huntsburg. Someone left a toilet at recycling center at township recreation park. Caller has photos of the license plate. Left message for suspect to call deputy back.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

April 24

10:32 p.m., Nash Road, Troy. Amish are tipping over outhouses at the Nash Road School. They are headed toward Troy in the buggies. Deputy spoke with complainant who did not want his name attached to the complaint. He said he observed the juveniles tip over the outhouses. They were not damaged and he was able to pick them up. He said he may know the parties involved, but did not want to provide the names. Complainant advised they will handle the issue within the community.

ROAD RAGE

April 27

6:52 a.m., S.R. 44, Concord. Scruffy male driver in a silver Honda Ridgeline cut me off at the 44 merge. Caller flipped him off and the male picked up a gun and waved it in the back sliding window. He then took off down Hosford, then turned right on Ravenna going toward Chardon. Incident occurred in Lake County.

THEFT AUTO

April 26

5:20 p.m., Nash Road, Parkman. 16-foot flatbed missing since last Monday.

THREATENING

April 29

5:44 p.m., Mulberry Road, Munson. Caller received a threat from his brother who lives in Nevada. Caller said his brother left a voicemail stating he was mad about their mother receiving a COVID vaccine and blamed his brother and the vaccine on their elderly mother’s current health conditions. Brother said if their mother dies, he will punch caller in the face. Caller said he just wanted this documented and inquired about  a possible protection order, or if his brother shows up at funeral. Caller does not want to pursue criminal charges. Advice given and report documented.
