The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Aug. 20-26, 2021.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Aug. 22

1:20 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Hambden. Two ducks taken from neighbor’s yard. Caller owns the ducks. Female pulled into neighbor’s drive and took the ducks. Caller wanted it documented that lady driving a gold minivan stole his ducks Aug. 5. Caller did not want matter investigated, only wanted to let GCSO know.

Aug. 25

2:47 p.m., Old State Road, Parkman. Two dogs just came into caller’s barn and ate several of his chickens. Dogs kept running in trying to get more chickens. Caller not happy with county dog warden’s response to incident. Dog warden advised they have staffing issues. Dog warden advised she would need to set up traps for the dogs and that due to excessive heat they cannot trap them tonight. Caller given solutions on how to handle situation. Report for documentation only.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Aug. 20

4:01 p.m., Kile Road, Claridon. Caller reports he has a restaining order against him and his wife is selling all his tools tonight. Deputy advised. Advice given.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Aug. 23

9:35 a.m., Erwin Drive, Burton. Neighbor is putting dog feces on caller’s car. Caller believes her neighbor is throwing dog poop over their fence onto her property. Deputy spoke to caller July 1 regarding same complaint. Feud between neighbors is ongoing and caller advised to mount cameras on her property for video evidence.

FRAUD

Aug. 25

10:03 a.m., Griswold Road, Chardon. Caller received an email from “Publishers Clearing House” informing her that she won $2.7 million and a new car. She was asked to send them approximately $7,500 in cash and provide them with her credit card information, which she did. Credit card transaction was denied. Money was sent and UPS flagged the package due to the large amount of money inside. UPS contacted caller and advised her they believed she was being scammed. Package has since been resent to caller, who also closed her credit card. She wanted incident documented.

HARASSMENT

Aug. 20

3:46 p.m., Kile Road, Montville. Two children on waterslide. Two patrons in the 50s and female were touching the kids and asking where they were from. Children are 10-year-old females. They said the adults were touching their thighs, backs, legs and shoulders. All parties are at the bottom of the slides. See report.

SUSPICIOUS

Aug. 20

3:13 a.m., Burton Windsor Road, Huntsburg. Looks like a body by the guardrail. It’s a pile of blankets. Deputy arrived and located male sleeping beside guardrail. He advised he was OK and currently en route to New York from New Mexico. Deputy provided a ride to state Route 44 at Auburn Road so he could get coffee.

Aug. 26

9:42 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. Old friend showed up at house and was telling a story about drugs and cops chasing him. Came yesterday to shoot a gun. He already has left. Caller is concerned because he thinks suspiciouys cars keep driving by now. A grey truck keeps driving buy and a helicopter keeps flying over. Caller is very paranoid. Caller is worried police are watching him after his friend stopped over. Advice given.

 VANDALISM

Aug. 21

9:31 p.m., Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. Complainant reports people throwing eggs at cars in the area of Nauvoo and Madison roads. Checked area, UTL.
