The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 15-21, 2021.

AGENCY ASSIST

Oct. 18

10:49 a.m., East Erie Street, Painesville. Responded to Lake County Sheriff’s Office regarding a bomb threat. Advised Lake County deputy auditor received a bomb threat via email. Threatening to detonate in the data center if the suspect was not paid $5,000. K-9 Argo deployed to conduct a search of data center. Argo showed no interest in anything in the building.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Oct. 16

2:28 p.m., Quail Woods Drive, Chardon. Caller believes neighbor may have poisoned dog on Tuesday this week. Caller would like to talk to a deputy. Caller said his dog bite neighbor’s son on or about Sept. 11. Since then neighbor has been upset that caller has not put the dog down. Neighbor has made threats to shoot his dog in the past.

Oct. 18

10:00 p.m., Rapids Road, Burton. Horse pulling a buggy just collapsed in road. Caller isn’t sure if the horse is breathing. It looks sick. It’s in the middle of road. Amish family trying to help the horse. Trying to get the horse back up. Amish people are walking down the road to come help. They are not walking the horse down the road. Met with horse owner who advised horse choked itself out and is fine now. Nobody in buggy hurt.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Oct. 17

10:28 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Complainant wanted to talk to a deputy about what should happen to a litter of puppies that were born before he and his now ex-wife sign divorce papers. Caller advised the matter was a civil matter and to contact an attorney.

DRUGS

Oct. 17

6:17 a.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Inmate had suspected heroin in his sock. Item was located while male was being searched at intake. Report taken. Charges to follow.

FRAUD          

Oct. 15

5:51 p.m., Madison Road, Huntsburg. Caller states she have a BF $7,000. She thought her granddaughter was in a car accident. The person who called sent a courier to the house to pick up the money. It sounded like her granddaughter was on the phone crying.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

Oct. 17
8:59 p.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. Caller stating two residents are touching each other and they will not get away after being instructed to do so. They are requesting deputies. Not being combative. Deputy spoke with juveniles who were involved in cuddling-type behavior. They said they understood the rules of the house and would comply. Both juveniles to their rooms.

Oct. 18

4:38 p.m., Old State Road, Hambden. Caller would like to report that her son was attacked on the school bus today at 3:30 p.m. It was right before he was dropped off. Child is 5. Bus driver was aware but said she was in the intersection and couldn’t stop. Unknown who the child is that attacked. Child has scratch marks on his face. Ongoing issue with him being bullied. Deputy advised and will contact school for follow up.

ROAD RAGE

Oct. 15

8:24 p.m., Nash Road, Troy. Male struck a car with a bat. Suspect is in a gray Grand Am. Left eastbound on 422. Met with caller who explained someone thought he cut their wife off the highway causing her to run off the road. Words were exchanged and a male got out of his vehicle and stuck complainant’s vehicle causing minor damage. Complainant was advised of his options and the report number was provided. Complainant unable to provide the other letter of license plate.

SUSPICIOUS

Oct. 15

7:39 a.m., Nash Road, Parkman. Female delivers newspapers on Nash Road, heading east small sports car with black hood, blue headlights. Is always high on drugs and causes problems. Caller would like us to be aware. Caller also states her driving is horrible and one day she is going to hit a buggy.

Oct. 15

9:02 p.m., Creighton Lane, Auburn. Male came to door saying he was from cable company, wearing hard hat and no ID. Said he was there to bury cable line. Caller turned him away and he left. Male had a female with him. Male was about 6-feet tall, approximately 20 years old, white hard hat, green t-shirt and jeans. Female wearing navy hoodie. Checked area. UTL/GOA.

Oct. 16

3:18 p.m., Stephens Way, Munson. Deputy spoke with complainant who is having issues with neighbor. On Sept. 11 his dog bit neighbor’s son. Incident was reported to dog warden along with health department. Complainant advised their friendship has been strained due to incident. Said neighbor has made threats to shoot the dog if he comes onto neighbor’s property. Also said his dog was possibly poisoned but stated he has not evidence of who or how it was done. Looking for advice. Advice given to get exterior cameras at his residence in case there are other incidents.

Oct. 20

8:24 p.m., Frazier Drive, Munson. Female said he received a call from Amazon service number telling her to go outside to the end of her driveway because Amazon driver needed help with a package. Female said she was not expecting anything from Amazon. Female said she did not go outside, but did see a box truck drive up the road. Caller requested area checked for the vehicle. Deputies checked area. UTL/GOA.
