The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 18-24, 2022.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
Feb. 19
12:31 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Hambden. There is a dead deer in a standing position next to the road. Deputy responded. It appears someone put the deer in this position. Deer was pushed over and is now laying in the ditch.
CITIZEN ASSIST
Feb. 18
4:34 p.m., Edwards Street, Parkman. Caller would like advice. He’s tired of his girlfriend breaking his belongings. He does not wish to file charges or break up with her. He just wants her to stop breaking his items.
Feb. 19
9:37 a.m., Clay Street, Huntsburg. Large snowman is leaning and caller is worried it might fall over on children when people stop to take photos with it. Deputy responded. Snowman appears solid at the bottom, top is leaning a little and no one around it.
CITIZEN DISPUTE
Feb. 23
10:28 a.m., Doty Road, Parkman. Amish family purchased a van for complainant and registered the van to him. They decided they didn’t want him using the vehicle any longer and locked it up at the house. Complainant did not have address where the vehicle is parked. Advice given.
OVERDOSE
Feb. 20
12:12 a.m., Breckenridge Drive, Chardon. 17-year-old female, possible convulsions. No known drug or alcohol use. Possible use of marijuana or vape pen. Female transported to UH Geauga for an overdose. Report to follow.
THEFT
Feb. 18
3:25 p.m., Kevin Lane, Hambden. Theft of $80 from the counter. Caller believes the money was stolen by the daughter’s boyfriend. Daughter stayed the night to watch the dogs.
WELFARE CHECK
Feb. 19
4:46 p.m., Linda Drive, Newbury. Caller is having issues with her ex-husband. Her 16-year-old son is at his father’s for his weekly visit. Son texted caller stating his father grabbed him and shoved him. Father stated he spanked the son for back talking. Stated son is fine, everything is calm now. It all started over son’s grades and getting his electronics taken away. Deputy spoke with father and son. Father said son was not following the rules of the house and was disrespecting him. He said he did discipline his son and took away his computer. Father said whole argument started over his son failing classes at school. Advice given.
