The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office March 11-17, 2022.

AGENCY ASSIST

March 17

6:24 a.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Cuyahoga County warrant. Male being released from Heather Hill is wanted for homicide.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

March 14

11:36 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Out with duck in the road. The duck was removed from the road and returned to the owner.

March 16

2:10 p.m., Kile Road, Claridon. Neighbor’s dog is attacking chickens. This has happened before and dog has attacked another neighbor before. No chickens were lost. Attempt made to contact dog owner, no answer, message left.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

March 14

8:21 p.m., Rapids Road, Burton Village. Caller reports her husband pulled a knife on her about 20 minutes ago, then left home. Female denies drinking or drug use. Unknown direction of travel.

FOUND PROPERTY

March 16

3:17 p.m., Swine Creek Road, Middlefield. Caller found an Amazon package in the ditch. Deputy advised. Amazon package delivered to Georgia Road home.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

March 16

12:50 p.m., Clubhouse Drive, Hambden. Minor stated kids at bus stop held him down and forced a vape into his mouth. Two students, 13-year-old female and 12-year-old male. Principal is concerned. Wants a deputy to respond to middle school for report. Principal said he still needed to talk to all students involved and determine whether this incident is school-related or not. Deputy spoke with child’s father and he was advised of incident by his son prior to principal reporting. Father requested extra patrols at bus stop and to be visible when kids get off the bus.

POSSIBLE DUI

March 12

2:39 p.m., Julie Drive, Munson. Male left his drug dealers in Mentor-on-the-Lake and is high. He is possibly headed to Julie Drive. Could also be headed to his mother’s home in Thompson.

SUSPICIOUS

March 17

8:05 p.m., Ensign Road, Claridon. Caller saw a female grabbing packages out of the ditch. Caller took a photo of license plate. He stopped the female and told her she could take the packages. Caller said packages belonged to a Georgia Road address. Female ended up taking the packages. Deputy checked the area. UTL/GOA.

TRAFFIC OFFENSE

March 16

9:40 a.m., Munn Road, Newbury. Incident happened an hour ago. Road rage. He break-checked caller and “flipper her off.” She wants to report he used his vehicle as a weapon. Advice given. Caller told to call when the incident takes place versus after.

TRAFFIC STOP

March 16

6:11 p.m., Rapids Road, Troy. Male driver issued citation for speed and expired registration. He had another plate on his car that also was expired. He was given a warning for display of plates. Driver advised he did not have insurance on vehicle. Vehicle was towed.

March 17

7:13 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Vehicle stopped for excessive speed. Driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. Cited for all three violations.

VANDALISM

March 14

11:39 a.m., Hobart Road, Parkman. Ford F-150 was vandalized last night. It was parked in driveway. It got egged, wipers ripped off, outside mirror shattered, tail pipe is loose.

WARRANT SERVICE

March 15

11:21 a.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Niquan Dunn, aggravated trafficking and possession of drugs, trafficking and possession of cocaine, and possessing criminal tools. Copy of indictment served in jail.
