The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 13-19, 2022.
7:15 p.m., Old State Road, Hambden. Caller advised there are pigs that constantly get out and go into the yards. Caller wants deputy to tell owners to fix the hole in fence. Deputy advised. Owner was notified.
9:10 a.m., Trish Lane, Hambden. There is a pig running around on the property. Believe it’s from Osso’s Farm. Sergeant responded to the pig owners’ home and was bitten by a dog. Deputy spoke to pig’s owner who was in the process of getting the pig back into its area.
6:38 a.m., Ravenna Road, Chardon. Caller’s mother died. Now brother is saying he is going to sue him over money that was given to caller by his mother. Wants to meet with a deputy. Advice given.
4:40 p.m., Woodlawn Drive, Newbury. Caller states someone has stolen packages off her porch twice in the last few weeks. Post office said package was delivered to her residence. She was unable to locate it. Unknown if stolen or if it was sent to wrong address. Advice given.
8:17 p.m., White Oak Drive, Auburn. Ongoing issue with neighbor cutting his grass multiple times per week after 8 p.m. Caller has small children. Not a current dispute; caller just wants deputy to respond to neighbor and ask him to stop. Deputy advised. Caller said neighbor has mowed his grass six times after 8 p.m. this week and believes he is doing it on purpose.
10:04 a.m., Hobart Road, Parkman. Caller’s daughter left home and they went and got her, but now the people who kidnapped their daughter changed the address to her medical records so they get the documents. Name of person who took daughter given. Advice given.
5:28 a.m., Old State Road, Claridon. Caller called from an unknown person’s phone saying he is going to leave. Fleeing area to avoid being arrested for DV from last night. Currently at his shop. Caller believes he probably is still intoxicated and is going to try to leave the area, and wants deputies to arrest him at his shop. Caller believes he carries a handgun and a rifle. Deputy advised. Checked residence and shop on Old State Road. Male and vehicle were not located.
10:19 p.m., Old State Road, Claridon. Husband pulled caller’s hair. Male is intoxicated and trying to leave in a truck. Caller is advising she “did pinch his balls, hard.” She is denying rescue. Female has not been drinking. Caller does not see husband’s truck outside. He may be headed to his girlfriend’s home. Unknown where she lives. Report to follow.
8:09 p.m., Madison Road, Huntsburg. Caller holds a class at the community center and a child found a bag of drug paraphernalia in the dumpster. Deputy retrieved the bag to have destroyed.
2:14 p.m., Sawmill Drive, Hambden. Driver for Cleveland Logistics (Amazon) was verbally assaulted and had a gun pulled on him near above address. Driver left the area. Assailant was in a black Buick. Deputy checked area where incident may have taken place and did not locate any vehicle matching description.
10:47 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. In parking lot by Punderson. White Honda located in corner of parking area for Punderson. Keys in ignition and cell phone also inside. While on scene the owner walked out of the lake in a wet suit. He was retrieving frisbees from the water after a disk game.
12:33 p.m., Lexington Lane, Russell. Subject in lobby to file a report for photos. Report taken inappropriate photos and videos of a minor on the phone.
11:27 a.m., Plank Road, Montville. Theft from produce stand. Caller had three hanging baskets and a gift basket taken from roadside stand. No cameras. Advice given.
3:13 p.m., Hobart Road, Parkman. Caller needs to make a report for threatening via text message. Unknown who is texting caller. Caller states to be careful when you pull in because he has spike strips in the driveway. Deputy advised. Complainant receiving spam text messages from someone claiming to be a cartel member, trying to scam hm out of money. Complainant advised to block number.
