The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office June 24-30, 2022.

ASSAULT

June 25

4:09 p.m., Kile Road, Montville. Multiple people fighting by the pool in back of Pioneer Waterland. Approximately 20 people. It is physical. Two groups fighting and holding each other down. Female is bleeding from her mouth and nose. White female, black Nike shorts and sports bra was the aggressor. The groups now separated but are yelling at each other. Rescue declined; EMS on scene attending to female. 11-year-old black male was choked and an infant was slapped. EMS evaluating the 11-year-old. Report taken.

CITIZEN ASSIST

June 24

1:08 p.m., Lakeview Road, Munson. Has had issues with his neighbor and today, when his fiancé took the dogs out, the neighbor started screaming at her. This has been an ongoing issue. The other party called in advising the neighbors were filming him when his wife had him out for a walk in his wheelchair. Second caller called from Lakeview. Caller would not advise his name, just wanted us out there before he “handled it himself.”

10:06 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Caller would like information on new concealed carry law and how to get a CCW through the sheriff’s office. Information provided.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

June 28

2:36 a.m., Plank Road, Montville. Fiancée tried to caller over with car. He thinks she drove into the ditch. No weapons. Caller has been drinking all night as well. Caller is trying to get female to come inside the house. Female drove over the flower pots in the yard as well. Female arrested to DV.

FRAUD

June 28

12:58 p.m., Bell Street, Newbury. Illuminating Company scam. Complainant received a call from an individual stating to be from the Illuminating Company and she had to pay them immediately or her power would be turned off. Complainant did not pay any money and already notified the Illuminating Company with that number. Complainant just wanted the GCSO to be aware of the telephone call she received.

June 30

6:10 p.m., Sherman Road, Munson. Caller would like to make a report regarding a fraud call he received several times. Money lost approximately $3,100. Deputy advised. Advice given.

PURSUIT

June 24

11:21 p.m., Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. Pursuit eastbound Nauvoo. Black motorcycle, one rider. Continue eastbound Nauvoo at 529, 90 mph. Male rider with no helmet and a black jacket. Attempted to stop motorcycle and driver refused to stop. Pursuit terminated.

THEFT

June 28

9:47 a.m., Auburn Springs Drive, Auburn. Theft yesterday from our screened-in porch. Wireless Bose speaker. Believe it occurred between noon and 4 p.m. Complainant stated he was missing a white Bose portable speaker valued at $200. Report taken. Extra patrol requested in area.

TRAFFIC OFFENSE

June 28

1:12 p.m., Auburn Road, Newbury. White Lexus, swerving, went in and out of the ditch. Two occupants including female driver. Another caller advised there was a white Lexus driving erratic and was on the wrong side of the road, went off the road and is now northbound from Bell and Auburn Road. Another caller advising north of Music Street the vehicle is all over the road and looks like it was in a crash. Female driver was arrested for OVI and transported to jail. Vehicle towed.

TRAFFIC STOP

June 28

11:42 a.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Mayfield and Aquilla. Chevy 1500 XL. Marijuana paraphernalia and shrooms located. See report. Charges pending after lab results.

TRESPASSING

June 29

4:13 p.m., North Cheshire Street, Burton. Caller advising there are two bums on bicycles stealing electricity to charge their bike batteries. They were told to leave and are refusing. Outside the domestic arts and flower hall building.

WEAPON OFFENSE 

June 30

11:34 a.m., Wilson Mills Road, Munson. Caller’s vehicle was just shot at with a BB. There is a nick in caller’s windshield. Caller was going down Wilson Mills by Wilbert Road toward Basswood.
