The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Aug. 19-25, 2022.

AGENCY ASSIST

Aug. 21

8:55 p.m., Bundysburg Road, Middlefield. Buggy was travelling without lights on and multiple occupants were drinking, possibly underage. They pulled into this address. TCSO would like us to check this address. They were on phone with complainant who was following buggy. GCSO deputy spoke with homeowner who advised he did not see any buggies pull into his driveway. Homeowner advised no one from his residence had been out drinking. Everything checked OK.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Aug. 23

5:29 p.m., Sawmill Drive, Hambden. Longhorn bull in yard, now going into road, heading toward Route 6. Owner on ATV chasing cow eastbound on 6 trying to get it under control. Area checked, UTL. Owner of bull advised bull is behind property.

Aug. 24

7:37 a.m., Butternut Road, Newbury. Racoon stuck in a bird feeder. Deputy advised. Racoon is freed!

ASSAULT

Aug. 23

4:59 p.m., Trask Road, Thompson. Male at Thompson PD to make a report for assault that occurred at the soccer fields. Deputy advised. Complainant is father of two juvenile boys. Complainant stated incident occurred on Aug. 14 around 10:30 a.m. Video captured by complainant showed fight occurred during soccer match. Unknown who suspects are. See report.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Aug. 22

10:55 a.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Male in lobby requesting K-9 unit to sniff an employee’s vehicle for drugs. Complainant had picked up his company truck from tow lot, regarding last night’s arrest for drugs. Complainant worries there were more drugs inside and needles. Complainant asked that truck be checked again. Checker interior of truck, nothing was found. Assistance provided.

Aug. 24

8:04 p.m., Williamsburg Court, Auburn. Caller is in lobby for a report his babysitter posted a TikTok video stating she wanted to run over the kids and smash their face. Female is 17 years old. Report to follow.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Aug. 19

1:30 p.m., Treadway Drive, Munson. Complainant advised she was walking with her children down the street. Neighbor came up behind them and sat there. Ongoing problem with neighbor. Neighbor then blew her horn at her and her three children, drove by and flipped her off. Neighbor drive down to the end of the road and flipped off her home. Report to follow.

Aug. 20

8:32 a.m., Madison Road, Huntsburg. Caller is arguing with a construction worker. Caller was waiting while they were doing road work. Caller wanted to go through but the traffic controller told him he could not go through yet. Caller told the traffic controller to F-off. Employee of paving company heard this and threatened to beat him up. Employee left the scene but a business card was left to have him contact deputy.

2:57 p.m., Clay Street, Thompson. Homeowner is drunk and trying to fight Spectrum. Screaming and yelling at the workers. Workers keep trying to walk away and the male keeps coming up to them and being verbally aggressive. Stating he is going to cut out the cable they just installed. Male brining a ladder to the pole now. Male attempting to climb pole. Two workers on ground and one worker in the bucket. Male cannot reach worker in bucket.

Aug. 22

9:40 a.m., Dewey Road, Thompson. Caller has two men stating they are from Lowe’s and they are there to install flooring. They do not speak English. She was expecting Lowe’s to come to install flooring today, but she does not believe these men are from Lowe’s. She believes men are speaking Russian. Homeowner does not want the subcontractors Lowe’s sent to do her floors. Deputy advised males to leave.

HARASSMENT

Aug. 24

8:31 p.m., Woodin Road, Chardon. Male suspect is harassing caller and his wife. Ongoing issue with this male; he has interest in caller’s wife. Previous report filed in Cuyahoga County, where they used to live. Now he is coming around this location and threatening caller and causing issues with them. Male wants information in filing a restraining order. Deputy provided and advised an extra patrol can be conducted during the night.

Aug. 25

5:01 p.m., Auburn Road, Munson. Caller advised his daughter is getting bullied in school and they have an ongoing investigation with Chardon Schools. Explained today his wife received a text message from an unknown number stating her daughter is spreading business around school that is not hers. Advice given.

SUSPICIOUS

Aug. 19

6:47 p.m., Mulberry Road, Munson. Male in GCSO lobby would like to speak to speak to a deputy about a male who came to look at a saw he was selling. Male came and took photos of everything and complainant thinks it is suspicious. Advice given. Nothing criminal at this time.

8:12 p.m., Ravenna Road, Chardon. Drone passed over caller’s house last night at approximately 10:45 p.m. and would like to know if it is legal for it to be above her property. Would only like a phone call. Deputy spoke with caller and explained at this time it was not a violation.

Aug. 24

1:11 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Huntsburg. Deputy met with complainant who stated his sister was a victim of a violent crime out of Cleveland a few years ago. While the suspect of the crimes was in prison, he received letters in the mail stating “he can’t wait to pay him a visit.” He has seen a white, 1990s model Ford or Chevy transit wan drive slowly pass his house and pull into the driveway and leave. Believes this may be related to the suspect and they located where he and his wife live. Advice given about cameras and other safety measures.

6:24 p.m. (location redacted). Caller is being blackmailed over nude photos. Deputy advised. Caller reported he met a female on Tinder and sent nude photos. Female blackmailed him for money. See report.

THEFT

Aug. 23

11:55 a.m., Blue Heron Trail, Munson. Deposit bag stolen out of trunk. It had cash and checks in it. Happened overnight. $1,800 in cash and $1,200 in two checks were taken from a money bag underneath vehicle’s seat. Report taken.

Aug. 24

7:54 a.m., Ledge Road, Thompson. Back in April an Irish Setter puppy was stolen from this address by what the owner believed to be the septic company that had been there that day. Dog was missing and collar was unbuckled. This morning while at a business located near the office of the septic company a worker showed up with the puppy that was stolen and confronted employees. It was discovered the worker was at the house doing the work that day and caller believes worker is the one who took the dog from the property. Follow up to be conducted.

TRAFFIC STOP

Aug. 22

8:44 p.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Female speed. Citation issued 81 mph in 45 mph.

TRESPASSING

Aug. 25

7:30 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Claridon. There are parasailers “buzzing around” caller’s property. They are approximately 5 feet off the ground. He owns 1,000 acres and they do not have permission to use the land. He believes they are coming from the airport.  Upon arrival deputy observed a parasailer fly away after they spotted the deputy. Homeowner said it has been going on for months. He would just like the pilots warned to stay of the property.

VANDALISM

Aug. 19

10:33 a.m., Taylor Wells Road, Claridon. Black GMC SUV pulled into the parking lot next to a silver Jeep Cherokee at McCaskey Landscaping. Male was wearing a hoodie. Broke back window of the Jeep. License plate obtained. Suspects left out of parking lot toward Mayfield Road. Employee is out on a job now. Employer will have employee call GCSO.
