The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 18-24, 2022.
AGENCY ASSIST
Nov. 19
1:41 a.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Assist for uncooperative male. Deputies responded to assist jail staff with unruly prisoner. Upon arrival prisoner calmed down and walked to his cell. Male was from the Chardon City arrest.
BURN
Nov. 20
3:29 a.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. 45-year-old male has burns on arms and hands. Was using a candle to keep warm and it caught his clothes and sleeping bag on fire. They are not on fire anymore. Will respond if needed. ER to Akron Children’s.
CITIZEN ASSIST
Nov. 23
2 a.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Caller says he wants to talk to a deputy about something going on with his wife and the legality of something he wants to do. Caller lives in Kirtland and refused to advise dispatch of what was happening. Caller was told he might need to call Kirtland PD but caller insisted what was happening was not happening in Kirtland. Caller explained to deputy his almost ex-wife has been cheating on him with another married man. Caller asked if he could have an escort to the property at a later date to confront them. Advice given.
CITIZEN’S DISPUTE
Nov. 22
11:36 p.m., Woodlawn Drive, Newbury. Caller says his neighbor has purposely mounted a spotlight on the side of the house and pointed it into the caller’s house windows. Light is not pointing onto neighbor’s property and he clears the trees so the light is unobstructed. Deputy advised and spoke with caller, who said there is an ongoing feud with neighbor. Advice given.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Nov. 20
8 p.m., Stafford Road, Auburn. Sister is assaulting caller. Caller states she did not get physical with him tonight. Unknown alcohol/drug use. Unknown weapons. Caller states two weeks ago female attempted to stab him. Females resides with boyfriend in Burton. Caller stated sister attempted to assault him and kicked him in the shin. No visible injuries. Report will be forwarded to prosecutor.
HARASSMENT
Nov. 21
5:16 p.m., Kevin Lane, Hambden. Caller in lobby stating ex-girlfriend is harassing him, has called over 100 times today. He has asked her to stop several times. Deputy spoke with female who said she would stop calling them. Female warned for phone harassment.
INFO REPORT
Nov. 23
11:43 p.m., Crestwood Road, Newbury. Anonymous caller states female is going around bragging about having an active warrant through GCSO and that she isn’t doing any time because “the jail won’t take her.” Female likes to hide in the attic whenever deputies arrive looking for her. Jail advised they are unable to accept female if tried due to limited space.
SUSPICIOUS
Nov. 19
8:55 p.m., Cornelia Drive, Aquilla. Caller received a phone call from male caller and he hung up. At 8:45 p.m., he texted, “Help, I’ve been kidnapped.” He has not answered follow-up calls. He lives with his mom and caller believes he loves off of Aquilla Road. Male is 22 year old and has three warrants. Summit Count checking ping locations. Caller just spoke with brother who stated male was active on Facebook four hours ago. Male was located and checked OK. He said the message he sent was a joke.
THEFT
Nov. 18
6:15 p.m., Windmill Point Road, Huntsburg. Amazon package was delivered yesterday and someone took it. Caller says package stolen from her front porch. Deputy located package under porch stairs. Wind possibly blew it off porch and under stairs. Nothing criminal.
THREATENING
Nov. 18
4:30 a.m., Winagle Road, Troy. Homeowner is threatening to shoot the repossessor. Does not have the weapon in his hands, but is standing on the truck preventing him from leaving with the vehicle. Homeowner is at the house stating a tow truck is there trying to remove his daughter’s vehicle. Caller states he does not have a weapon on him. Adult daughter is there and sleeping. Male now standing between the car and truck. Deputies on scene. Homeowner said he did not know who the tow truck driver was and did not know his daughter was behind on payments. Homeowner said he did not have a gun at any point Caller left the residence with the vehicle with no issue.
