The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office April 28-May 4, 2023.

AGENCY ASSIST

April 28

2:55 p.m., Moss Glen Trail. Trailer was purchased on market place by this resident and they are not aware it was stolen. Bought it from an individual who is Summit County Sheriff’s Office suspect for multiple trailer thefts in their area. Detective also advised GCSO has also arrested this suspect within the last few weeks for the same thing. Davey Tree called asking if they could pick up their trailer.  Recovered stolen property was returned to owner.

10:41 p.m., Leaview Lane, South Russell. South Russell called in for an assist due to an underage party with 70-80 individuals. Asking RTPD and BTPD to assist two South Russell units. All units OK.

May 2

3:18 a.m., Meadowwood Drive, Claridon. Theft of a black 2022 Dodge Ram TRX, $100,000 value. Possible remote start from Cleveland Hopkins Airport and ping currently is at Meadowwood Drive address. Contact made with property owner who is unaware of any Dodge Ram pickup on her property. No horn or lights seen. No vehicle located.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

May 4

10:33 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Caller is stating his girlfriend is mad because he didn’t make her mac ‘n cheese for dinner and locked him out of house. Female is yelling from inside the trailer and caller is outside. Caller says he just wants to get his stuff and leave. Caller given a ride to his mom’s house.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

May 4

10:59 p.m., Thwing Road, Chardon. 60-year-old female punched in face and pulled around the house by her hair. Male may be intoxicated, no weapons and still believes to be at their house. Caller’s entire face swollen. Argument over caller getting a job at the post office where he works. Caller crawled out window to run next door. Caller’s eye is swelling. She is frightened of what he could do. No access to weapons. Husband arrested for disorderly conduct and DV, and transported to GCSO without incident.

FRAUD

April 30

1:15 p.m., Ravenna Road, Newbury. Caller wanted to report fraudulent activity with his online American Airlines account. States someone hacked into his account and fraudulently used 175,000 of his frequent flyer miles. Already contacted airline and they requested he file a report. Was alerted April 26 the miles were used to book flights and a hotel room in early April. Airline would not provide caller with any more information about the incident. They advised after caller files a report they will start their investigation into the incident.

LOST PROPERTY

April 28

10:31 a.m., Raintree Drive, Munson. Caller cannot find her gun. Wants to report it missing. Report taken. Gun to be entered into LEADS.

THEFT

April 29

10:42 a.m., Copperleaf Drive, Hambden. Husband has stolen daughter’s passport, caller’s passport and marriage certificate. Husband lives on Chardon Windsor, where the documents are kept. Stolen last night. See dispo for further.

TRAFFIC STOP

May 1

12:12 a.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Driver not stopping. Black sedan will over 100 mph. Terminated pursuit. East on 422. OSHP stopped vehicle 422 eastbound west of Mumford, pulled driver out at gunpoint, requesting an additional unit. Black Honda Accord.
