Nov. 17 to Nov. 23

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 17 to Nov. 23, 2023.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Nov. 21

8:03 a.m., Kile Road, Montville. Caller advised a loose Husky came into her yard and killed three of her chickens. Caller caught the dog. Unknown who the dog belongs to. Dog Warden paged.

Nov. 23

6:14 p.m., Valentine Road, Thompson. Caller advised his neighbor’s goat is attacking the caller and his vehicle. Unknown damage to the vehicle. Goat belongs to the person across the street, unknown address. Contact was made with caller who advised his neighbor’s goat was running free and terrorizing the neighborhood. Contact was made with goat’s owners. They were advised of the issue and arrived on scene to resecure the goat in the pen. Was advised about complaint and warned about animals at large.

PHONE HARASSMENT

Nov. 21

12:52 p.m., Ravenna Road, WomenSafe Green House, Munson. Caller’s soon to be ex-husband is sending nude photos to other ex and is afraid photos will be used against her in court. Caller is requesting a phone call from a deputy. Deputy spoke with caller regarding her ex-husband who lives in West Virginia, sending nude photos that were taken while they were married to her ex-fiance, who lives in Kentucky. Advice was given to contact her attorney and victim’s advocate in the state of West Virginia.

SUSPICIOUS

Nov. 20

5:15 p.m., Kinsman Road, University Hospitals, Newbury. Caller reports that his ex-girlfriend have separated and she came to his place of work and put grease on the vehicle doors. Male called to report that his ex-girlfriend potentially vandalized his vehicle. No evidence of girlfriend actually doing it. No damage observed on vehicle, only a white greasy substance on drivers door handle.

Nov. 20

10:42 p.m., Zenith Drive, Newbury. Caller’s brother-in-law is angry, he’s throwing knives at the table and wall. Person is male. He’s not mad at anyone only that his brother bought a soldering iron and he can’t afford one. No drinking, weapons or drugs. One of the knives came close to the caller’s 4-month old. The brother-in-law is now outside in the garage with the caller’s husband. They are not arguing. Male left residence prior to our arrival. No threats or violence occurred.

Nov. 21

7:49 a.m., Plank Road, Montville. Black Impala “scoping out her mailbox” then went southbound. Checked and sat in the area. Nothing observed.

Nov. 22

10:22 a.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Claridon. Callers 16-year-old son was at this intersection last night, pulled up behind a vehicle, driver exited the vehicle and lifted his shirt and brandished a weapon. Vehicle was a Tan Honda Pilot with bumper stickers: “I know who really won the election” and “I got armed at Wild Rose.” No plate was obtained, occurred about 8 p.m. Caller is now home.

THEFT AUTO

Nov. 17

9:32 a.m., Mumford Road, Troy. 2016 Chevy white missing from driveway / vehicle is paid off title in the glove box. White 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 stolen from residence overnight. Vehicle will have an unknown expired temp tag on the back. Current plate for vehicle is PLY3546 which was inside the vehicle. Keys were inside the vehicle. Report taken.

THEFT

Nov. 19

2:29 p.m., Main Market Road, Mulligans Pub, Troy. Theft of a golf cart sometime last night. EZ Go golf cart taken from locked building. No suspects, no cameras, no leads. See report.

Nov. 20

12:31 p.m., Kinsman Dollar, Dollar General, Newbury. Black male in store stealing. Wearing dark jeans, gray hoodie, driving an Amazon van. Driving towards BP. Took Carmex classic lip balm totaling $1.50. Summons issued.

Nov. 22

3:50 p.m., Fairmount Road, Ohman Family Living at Holly, Newbury. Caller is calling to report she believes one of the nurses has been suspected of taking narcotics. Caller is in the assisted living side. Report taken, statements left for nurses that are not present. Complainant will notify Monday when statements are completed.

TRESPASSING

Nov. 19

7:19 p.m., Clay Street, Thompson. Caller would like to make a trespassing report. The individual has been on the property multiple times. They also went into the house and vandalized the bathroom and coffee table. They damaged the cameras on the property as well. Contact was made. Caller advised he previously reported someone breaking into his home. Stated he is being harassed by the Sheriff’s Office or a larger unknown agency who is flying drones and jamming his cameras. Advice given to report any further suspicious activity, and extra patrols will be conducted.
