ANIMAL PROBLEM

Dec. 13

5:59 p.m., Valentine Road, Thompson. Aggressive goat owned by the neighbor across the street just knocked the caller off his feet The caller is currently restraining the animal that is still in his yard. Ongoing problem with the neighbor threatening the caller and his family. No injuries. Was issued a summons for permitting his goat to run at large.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Dec. 13

3:50 a.m., Pekin Road, Newbury. Elderly female, Dog is stuck in the chair. Use garage door opener in car. Will need a sawsall to cut the dog out. Deputy responded and broke the chair freeing the dog.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Dec. 9

9:20 a.m., Bundysburg Road, Huntsburg. Caller is en route to sheriff’s post, will be here within a couple minutes. States she had a verbal altercation with an employee at Bargain Bins and he grabbed something off the shelf close to her face and the wind from that motion caused irritation to her eye that lasted two hours. No physical contact was made. This occurred on Thursday. She is declining EMS.Though the address in Spillman indicates a Huntsburg address, it is confirmed to be in Ashtabula.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

Dec. 10

6:43 p.m., Princeton Road, Huntsburg. Caller states she’s going to kill herself or her old man. Her husband keeps locking her out of the house. Caller threw out all their Christmas Cards. States the SOB does nothing around the house. He locked himself in his room and doesn’t help. No weapons. No drugs. Everythign is calm, she’s upset he locks himself in his room. Male does have alcohol in the room. Both parties agreed to leave each other.

MISSING PERSON

Dec. 8

9:57 a.m., Chardon Road, Chardon. Caller’s friend left at 6 p.m. yesterday and left her four-year-old daughter with the caller and said she would be back in two hours. She still has not returned. Her phone goes to voicemail. Caller said she is not known to use drugs. Caller called her mother and she has not heard from her either and is unable to get a hold of her either. She is from Parma. Parma PD requested to check her residence at Parma. Parma advised the vehicle was not there and there was no answer at the door, appeared no one was home.

SUSPICIOUS

Dec. 8

9:21 p.m., Clay Street and Pioneer Road, Huntsburg. Juveniles throwing apples at cars on Clay just north of Pioneer, maybe only 200 feet north. Deputy responded to location. Unable to locate juveniles. It was reported by a group of Amish boys in the area. Their taxi driver’s car was hit by

the apples and broke one of the windows in the vehicle.

Dec. 9

10:35 a.m., High Country Drive, Hambden. Male just bought the house and thinks he found a hand grenade in the garage unsure if that’s what it is. Dispo: Responded to location and photographed the item and sent it to the Bomb Squad. I then had the complainant stay in his vehicle, outside the residence. Bomb Squad determined to respond and X-ray. Bomb Squad arrived and X-ray the item. Bomb Squad advised they noted a wick and a area for a primer. Bomb Squad decided to take the item and dispose of it off site.

Dec. 9

11:30 p.m., Mayfield Road, Huntsburg. Underaged drinking party, about 75 to 100 kids. Second night in a row. This is inside the barn on the property. Caller chose to remain anonymous. Caller advising deputies drove passed the house and didn’t stop. Deputy drove through the area and was not able to observe any violations from the roadway.

Dec. 10

2:36 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Berkshire High School, Burton. Deputy informed me that the principal from Berkshire High School received an email from a Russian terrorist stating that a bomb was placed in American high schools because the USA is helping Ukraine. The school was checked with our bomb dog and no devices were detected. The principal and staff were advised.

THEFT

Dec. 11

7:18 p.m., Patch Road, Parkman. Theft of a laser transit and miscellaneous tools from the barn. Initial items were discovered Nov. 9 but the caller has been noticing more and more items since then; he needs a report. Up to this point, $2,500 worth of items. Reported he had his building unlocked. None of the tools described had any serial numbers documented. Report to follow.

WELFARE CHECK

Dec. 13

7:27 p.m., Goredon Drive, Aquilla. Someone is living in a shed. At times she will be in a van grey in color that’s parked on Turner. The van has its hood up. Caller is concerned for her welfare. Caller believes she has a warrant through Lake County. At this time she does not have a warrant. The shed had an electrical cord coming from inside and the door was unsecure. Two individuals were sleeping in the shed but would not wake up, did begin to mumble. There was heat in the shed and the two were under blankets. Nothing of concern observed.
