The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office March 18 through March 24. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 323 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
March 19
4:52 p.m., Creighton Lane, Auburn. Caller’s wife and dog were attacked by a dog who is visiting their neighbor’s house. The wife and the dog were not injured but they would like to file a report about the incident. Referred to the dog warden.
BURGLARY
March 18
4:23 p.m., Eastpoint Drive, Huntsburg. Caller says someone attempted to break in the residence, there are tool marks. The family was gone at work, but when they came home, the dog was acting very upset, and they noticed the tool marks. She is not sure if anyone made entrance to the residence. They have entered the residence since returning home. The caller was asked to step out of the residence until the deputy arrived to preserve any evidence.
CITIZEN’S DISPUTE
March 23
6:41 p.m., Tavern Road, Burton. The caller keeps getting harassed by the neighbor. She keeps yelling at the male while he is riding his ATV. He would like to meet with a deputy. He advised she yells at him daily about this. Deputy advised. Neighbor dispute over loud ATV. No crime committed.
NOISE PROBLEM
March 24
3:54 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Caller is the park manager and states the male who lives behind her has been playing loud music all day and she has received multiple complaints from other residents. Deputy responded to location. No music noted. Unable to reach homeowner.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
March 18
9:42 a.m., GAR Highway, Montville. It appears someone ran into the post office during the overnight hours causing damage to the building. Deputy arrived on scene and observed the gutter on the northeast corner was clipped by an unknown vehicle causing minor damage.
TRAFFIC CRASH
March 18
11:38 a.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Male in the lobby to report that his vehicle was damaged by an Earthworks truck. Complainant states that at approximately 8 a.m., an Earthworks truck was traveling in the opposite direction on 322 & Taylor Wells. Stated that the truck had an untarped load and that a piece of gravel chipped his windshield. Stated that he only wished to have the incident documented. Deputy will advise Earthworks.
TRESPASSING
March 20
7:17 p.m., Bradford Drive, Munson. Caller says that sometime in the last 1.5 weeks, someone went into his barn and made a bed. There is no one there now and no personal effects around the bed. Deputy responded. Nothing was taken. Two lawn chair pads were laid on the floor to make a small bed. Also, a lawn chair was moved.
March 21
6:18 p.m., Leader Road, Hambden. Caller says there are two boys playing on their basketball hoop and they are not supposed to be. The caller says that deputies told the boys in the past they aren’t to play on the hoop. The deputy spoke with several kids who were playing basketball, they said they knocked on the door to ask to use the hoop but no one answered. Advice given to the kids.
