The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 16-22. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 377 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

May 17

6;17 a.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Huntsburg. Caller says that there are two cows in the field across the street. She says they do not belong there; she believes they have escaped. Deputy searched the area for the loose cows and was unable to find them.

BURGLARY

May 17

9:59 a.m., Aquilla Road, Claridon. Caller states someone came into their house last week and took a 32-inch TV. Caller also locked her keys in the car. They are working on the driveway so the deputy might not be able to park in the driveway. Report taken.

DISORDERLY

May 17

1;07 a.m., Chardon Road, Chardon. Customers trying to fight with caller. Caller is the owner. No weapons. Caller states the customers were trying to steal stuff from the business. Customers are on the patio. Deputy responded. Nothing criminal. Problem subjects left location without incident.

EXTRA PATROL

May 22

9:39 a.m., Thompson Road, Thompson. Ledgemont High School would like extra patrol, May 23, in the parking lot. It is rumored that the seniors are going to prank the teachers during that time. It is not known what they are planning on doing. One teacher’s house was TP’d last night.

FIRE

May 19

4:24 p.m., Old State Road, Claridon. North of Grandview on west side of the road between two buildings. Fire personnel on scene. Agricultural burn; allowing burning to continue. Per property owner, there has been illegal dumping occurring on the property and he was unaware of the non-class A combustibles in the pile. Those items were removed.

LITTERING

May 20

7:17 p.m., Colburn Road, Chardon. The complainant just witnessed a male subject dump bags of yard debris and trash along the side of Colburn Road. Honda pickup, black in color. Unknown description on the male driver. Subject left Colburn after observing the complainant heading southbound on 44. Deputy advised. Just grass clippings were dumped. They were pushed off the road.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

May 17

6:19 p.m., Elk Run, Munson. Female in the lobby to report two separate incidents of property damage to her gray Chevy Traverse. Her vehicle appears to have been keyed in both her driveway and in the parking lot of Chardon Middle School. Report to follow.

SUSPICIOUS

May 18

7:23 p.m., Bridge Creek Trail, Auburn. House boarded up recently. Back kitchen window, the boards are pried off and window is open. Light is on inside the house, shoes on the back deck. No one is permitted to be on the property. Report to follow. K-9 deployment on building search. No suspects apprehended.

May 22

3:26 a.m., Mayfield Road, Huntsburg. At Rolling Green Golf Course someone has pulled the fencing a few feet into the roadway causing a hazard. Front gate rolled open into the roadway. Deputy checked clubhouse and near by grass area for any signs of criminal activity or turfing. Clubhouse was secure and no obvious signs of criminal activity were located. Deputy was able to secure the gate.

THEFT

May 19

10:31 a.m., Butternut Road, Munson. Caller works for a restoration company. On May 8, copper pipes were stolen from the location. The bank would like a report made. Forcible entry made through garage main door. Copper is missing.

WELFARE CHECK

May 20

7:27 a.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Male appears to be passed out in a black Honda Civic. Several people were trying to wake him up. Per hospital security, the subject just walked out of the hospital. Send more units. He just walked away. Jeans and green T-shirt and no shoes.
