Geauga Caprine Kids 4-H Club meets at the Claridon Town Hall from 6:45-8 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month from February to December.

Members of Geauga Caprine Kids can choose a project in goats, poultry, rabbits and more. Members take their projects to fair, where the meat animals are auctioned for hundreds of dollars and awards are given for showmanship and breed competitions. Club members also get to participate in leadership roles in the club, the Maple Festival parade and fun community service projects.

My favorite parts about being a 4-H member are making friends from different schools, learning about best practices and animal care and earning money for college at the livestock auction.

The next meeting is April 25.
