Family Science Day

The Chardon Local Schools faculty invites the community to a free event where Chardon students can explore, create and discover the magic of science. Chardon Family Science Day will be held April 23 in the Chardon High School gym with an open house format from noon to 3 p.m.

Students can visit over 20 different hands-on stations to have fun while exploring science. Topics include a tetrahedron building challenge, a star dome hosted by the Geauga Park District and creating a hologram projector.

A concession stand will be open during the event. The first 300 students in grades K-8 will receive a complimentary backpack and pen when arriving at the event to carry anything they create and handouts they receive at the stations. All participants will be given a ticket at each station they investigate to put in a drawing to win many great prizes, including a Sphero Robot. Winners need not be present, so be sure to fill out the tickets completely.

CHS Powder Puff Game

The Chardon High School senior girls will take on the junior girls at the Powder Puff flag football game on April 23 at 6 p.m. The annual event will be held at Chardon Memorial Field.

Tickets are $3, with all proceeds and donations going to WomenSafe. A local non-profit organization that provides free support to anyone experiencing violence in their home or dating relationship, WomenSafe provides comprehensive programming for adults and children including counseling, art therapy, court advocacy, hospital advocacy, outreach services and aftercare.
