Congratulations to Timmons Elementary School Students of the Month. Kindergartners honored with “compassion” awards were: Maci Amstutz, Michael Cieslak, Brynn Dodd, Eloise Mulheman, Tyler Namy, Jackson Reed and Jaxsen Timmons. First-graders were Lily DeCourcey, Gino DeLuca, Robert Hairston, Mira Jarzembak, Noah Mosnik, Samuel Spencer and Kylee Thompson.
Second-graders were Brooklyn Alexander, Andi Dodd, Daylon (DJ) Hemphill, Xavier Janszen, Zachary Lytton, Caroline Morgan and JJ Strano. Third-graders were Matthew Albano, Roma Alvarez, Sophia Anderson, Helena Haar, Aidan Insana, Wilson Kentner and Ryan Menary.
TES Zoo Crew
Timmons Elementary School third-graders who work hard and show great effort were named to the Zoo Crew. Members of the Zoo Crew are rewarded with goofy and crazy games and activities before school each week for eight weeks.

KIS Students of the Month
Kenston Intermediate School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month for April.
Students selected for “compassion” honors were fourth-graders Ethan Ballantyne, Isabella Beskur, Kieran Cahalane, Rocco DeLuca, Jacob Katz, Samantha Pijor, Jack Polien, Marisol Servin and Jake Spencer; and fifth-graders Ryan Anderson, Ava Drcar, Emerson Greene, Katie Harvey, Maddy Jaroch, John Klosky, Kyle McMahan, Jasmine Sandoval, Maya Simpson, Alayna Stachiw, Iris Valadez and Martin Weber.
Future Chef Regional Finalist
Congratulations to Timmons Elementary School third-grader Charlotte Cowan for her selection as regional finalist in the Sodexo Future Chef competition. Her comfort food recipe for Surprise Waffle made from hash browns, ham and cheese was a hit with the judges.
Best High Schools Ranked
U.S. News and World Report 2017 Best High Schools highlighted Kenston as one of the top-performing public schools in Ohio and the country. Kenston received a silver medal.
“We are pleased to be included in this ranking. It is one piece of data that contributes to measuring the overall success of the district,” said Superintendent Nancy Santilli.
Rankings are based on state assessments in math and reading, graduation rates and how well students are prepared for college – using Advanced Placement test data as the benchmark for success.
On the Ohio list, Kenston ranked 48th, with a national ranking of 1,166. The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 22,000 public schools nationwide.
