On May 16, it was pouring rain in Chardon, but the students at St. Helen School enjoyed sunshine as they participated in their annual field day activities. Students tried to avoid getting wet, not from raindrops, but from a water balloon toss, which was one of the many activities planned by physical education teacher Amy Hotchkiss and the eighth-grade class.

St. Helen Boosters, with the help of many parents, provided snacks and a hot dog picnic lunch for the students. A traditional water balloon toss between eighth-grade students and the faculty and staff was a highlight of the afternoon.
