National Trails Days: Hike Around The Reservoir

Join a naturalist for a seven-mile hike of the preserve side of East Branch Reservoir not normally open to the public. The wooded lanes offer the possibility of wildlife sightings including eagles and osprey. Pack a lunch and water bottle. Registration required.
Polliwog Paddle Family Canoe
June 4, 1-3 p.m.
Eldon Russell Park, Horwath’s Shelter
Families enjoy an easy-paced, short-distance float on the wildlife-rich Upper Cuyahoga River for families. Registration required by phone by June 4.
Geauga Walkers: Summer Picnic
June 6, 12-2:30 p.m.
The West Woods, Turkey Ridge Shelter
Join other active seniors on a hike at noon followed by a potluck picnic at 1 p.m. Bring a dish to share. Call Geauga Senior Center for full schedule, 440-279-2137.
Meteorites in Ohio
June 9, 7-8 p.m.
Observatory Park, Robert McCullough Science Center
Explore the history of meteorites in Ohio and learn how to identify them. If weather conditions allow, the program will be followed by night-sky viewing using the park telescopes until 11 p.m. The program will be repeated on June 23.

Waste Management’s Closed Lake County Landfill
Take the opportunity to explore the grasslands and wetlands of a restored landfill to see how the former solid waste site protects and is naturally re-claimed by an amazing diversity of animals and plants. Registration required.
