The Braided-n-Banded Geauga 4-H Horse Club collected items to create 12 Easter baskets for children residing at the WomenSafe shelter. Since the club collected so much, members were also able to provide baskets and goodies for the children that go to the WomenSafe facility for outreach programs. Each mom was also provided with a box of Malley’s candy.

On June 16, members of the club participated in an educational clinic sponsored by Geauga County 4-H Horse Clubs at the Equine Specialty Hospital. Dr. Melissa Milligan gave a tour of the facility and explained the different features of the hospital.

Attendees were able to see how veterinarians handle such large animals while having to give them IVs, X-rays, MRIs, prepping for surgery and then utilizing an aqua treadmill for rehab. She provided excellent information and answered numerous questions.

Thanks to Dr. Milligan for taking the time out of her day to provide an informative educational experience. Members from Braided-n-Banded said it was one of the best educational experiences they have been to. (Submitted by Diana Shale, news reporter)
