Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP Chapter 4527 will meet at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road.

Eric Noltkamper, a local accordionist who has performed all over Ohio and Pennsylvania, will provide the entertainment.

The group will hold a brief meeting following his performance regarding plans for next month and some facts that the government is working on for seniors.

Please bring in food, staples and paper products for the Food For Friends food pantry and dog food, blankets, hot dogs and other items for the Geauga Dog Shelter.

Medicare Drug Plan Comparison

Oct. 3, 7 p.m.

Silvana Kostura, trained as an Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program counselor from the Geauga County Department on Aging, will be at the Chardon Library to explain how seniors can compare Medicare drug coverage options using the Medicare.gov website.

Geauga specific resources will be provided. The class does not cover basic Medicare concepts; it focuses solely on choosing the best drug plan.

Middlefield Senior Trash Pickup

Oct. 4 and 5

The Middlefield Township Trustees and Middlefield Road Department are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the 2017 Middlefield Township Senior Trash Pick-Up Days.

In order to be placed on the cleanup list, one must first be registered with the Geauga County Department on Aging by Sept. 29, be 60 years of age or older and live in the Middlefield Township.

There is a limit of 10 items per household and all items must come from the senior’s home. All items must be left by garage or driveway near residence; do not leave items by curbside. Items should be left outside by the evening of Oct. 3.
