Mrs. Wachob’s kindergarten students celebrated Johnny Appleseed’s birthday. Leading up to the big celebration, students learned the apple life cycle and history of Johnny Appleseed, John Chapman. They also made crockpot applesauce during class using math and reading skills to follow the recipe.

Students in Mr. Cavolo’s fourth-grade science class learned that work is easier with tools. In an activity, the students learned to build and test a spring scale, a machine that has many useful purposes. Once completed, they used the spring scale to test how much force is needed to move books across the table.
