CHS Veterans Day Assembly

In what has become an annual tradition, Cardinal High School honored veterans on Nov. 14. Service members were treated to lunch from Zeppe’s Pizzeria and then honored during a special assembly in the CHS gym.

Students in grades 7-12 all attended and heard about the meaning behind Veterans Day, as well as what it means to be a veteran from Cardinal mom Angel King, who served in the Army, and from Cardinal High School teacher Dave Bronson, who served in the Marine Corps.

Each branch of the service was recognized during a musical salute to the Armed Forces played by the CHS band – those who served each branch or knew someone who did stood as each song played. The Cardinaires sang the “Star Spangled Banner,” a special slideshow honoring veterans in the community was shared and Veterans Day essays were read by students. The assembly closed with a special playing of “Taps” by middle school students Ana F. and Audrey A.
