Geauga Beef & Swine
The Geauga Beef & Swine 4-H Club met at 4 p.m. March 4 at the Geauga County Fairgrounds School Building. During roll call, each child stated what sport he or she plays. The treasurer report was given.
The group also discussed the window display that they put in the window at Mapledale Farm promoting Ohio 4-H Week. As a club everyone decided to do a community service called Family-A-Fair, which helps a family be able to go to the Geauga County Fair that normally wouldn’t be able to attend.
Reports were given by Austin Wetzel on ileitis, Riley Stump on atrophic rhinitis, Brandon Christian on marketing, Trevor Christian on getting ready for a show and Taylor Poff on circling disease.
Members then had an education section for beef and swine where they were taught about feed, breeds, leg structures and understanding the term motivation and understanding the vet feed directive.
The next meeting is April 22 at 4 p.m. (Submitted by Shannon McFaul, news reporter)
