The Geauga County Health District will offer a walk-in immunization clinic for children and adolescents through the age of 18 at First United Methodist Church, 14999 S. State Ave. in Middlefield. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a primary insurance card.

LGRC Announces Expanded Appointments

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers is expanding services at the Chardon outpatient office located at 209 Center St, Chardon. The hours of the additional Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program are 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Center provides a wide range of services for adults whose lives have been affected by their own or another’s use of alcohol, drugs, problem gambling or by mental illness. Licensed, trained professionals offer support, education and counseling to individuals, families, businesses, other service providers and the community at large.

Individuals interested in learning more about the many programs and services offered by Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers should call 440-255-0678.

NAMI Peer Support Speaker

NAMI Geauga will host a presentation by Takisah Morgan, prevention specialist with Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, on problem gambling from 7-7:30 p.m. in the Chardon Annex, 107 South St., Suite 5.

NAMI Connection Recovery Peer Support Group will follow the presentation from 7:30-8 p.m.

Help For Mental Illness

Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness.

NAMI Basics is a six-week education program for parents and family caregivers of school age youth who are experiencing mental health challenges.

The free class will meet six consecutive Thursdays, beginning April 19, from 6-8:30 p.m., at the NAMI Geauga office, 107 South St., Suite 2 in Chardon.
