Spring Has Sprung Early

Thanks to the St. Helen’s Young Gardeners Club, spring has sprung early at St. Helen’s. A few weeks ago, the group worked together with the help of volunteers Carrie Neill and Marilyn Percic to plant a tower garden. The students learned that tower gardens use a vertical, aeroponic growing system, which grows plants with only water and nutrients – no dirt is needed.

The tower garden is located in the school atrium and is busy growing everything one needs for a farm fresh salad. It looks almost too good to eat.
