School districts are mandated by the state of Ohio to provide services to students ages 3-5 who qualify for special education. Chardon Local Schools provides the service through an inclusion philosophy, which means typically-developing children or “role models” and students with special needs are educated together.
Role model students are being accepted for the 2018-19 school year. Details for the tuition-based program for typically-developing students and the registration packet is located on the district’s homepage.
Registrations will be taken by appointment by calling the Student Services Office at 440-286-0460.
In addition to the completed registration packet, parents should bring a copy of the child’s original birth certificate, proof of residency and a copy of the child’s immunization record.

Spring break for Chardon Schools will be observed March 26 through April 2. Classes resume April 3.
