Nature Challenge

April 29, 2-4 p.m.

The West Woods, Russell Township

Be a part of science history as Geauga Park District participates in the 2018 City Nature Challenge, a global competition celebrating local biodiversity.

The afternoon will be spent searching for as many plants and animals as possible via pond dipping, trail hikes and insect netting to be recorded on iNaturalist. Registration is not required.

Fishing Opportunities in the Parks

May 4, 7-8 p.m.

The West Woods, Russell Township

The Geauga Park District Natural Resource Management team will provide tips on where, when and what to catch in various parks.

First, park biologist Paul Pira will outline how parks’ lakes and ponds are managed for sport fishing, the science that goes into the sport and features of Geauga County’s natural lakes. Then, land steward Jennifer Weitzel will share more information about new technology for park anglers and fishing surveys.

Registration is not required.
