Physics, Science and Math Day

Approximately 23 students in Miss Kara Gillespie’s and Mr. Josh Esenwine’s Honors and Algebra 2 and pre-calculus classes took a field trip to Cedar Point for their Physics, Science and Math day. The weeklong event turns the park into a classroom allowing students to view special presentations and demonstrations and participate in hands on exhibits. The event gives students the chance to experience the laws of physics and motion and discover how math and science apply to amusement park excitement. While there, students received packets to complete in relation to the rides, but because it rained most of the day, students weren’t able to complete them. However, they finished them in class before school ended for the year based off of pictures they took at the park.

8th-Grade Gettysburg Trip

Nearly 100 eighth-graders made the annual pilgrimage to Gettysburg, Pa., in May to see the history they’ve been studying all year come to life. During the two-day trip, students have an opportunity to tour several museums, battlefields and the National Cemetery and participate in a Ghost Tour at the Jenny Wade House.
