Help For Mental Illness
Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness.
Growth Through Grief support group is designed to guide loved ones through their journey to find hope and healing after suicide. The free, open group meets the second Wednesday of each month. A free, closed eight-week session is held on the first and third Wednesday of each month, starting in October. Meetings are held at NAMI Geauga, 107 South St. in Chardon. Registration is required for the closed group only.
Family to Family is a free, 12-week education class for family members or loved ones of a person with a mental health condition. Class runs Thursdays, Oct. 4 to Dec. 20, from 6 8:30 p.m. at NAMI Geauga Annex, 107 South St., Suite 5 in Chardon.
Mental Health First Aid is an eight-hour training that gives people the tools to identify when someone might be struggling with a mental health or substance abuse problem and to connect them with the appropriate support and resources when needed. It will be held Oct. 6 in the NAMI community room, 107 South St., Suite 6, Chardon.
