American Red Cross blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.

The American Red Cross is seeking blood drive hosts in December, January or February to help prevent blood shortages and potential delays in medical care.

Opioid Crisis: Update for Business Community

Geauga Growth Partnership presents The Opioid Crisis: Updates, Treatment Options & Workplace Policyat Kent State University at Geauga, 14111 Claridon-Troy Road, Burton.

The nationwide opioid crisis remains in the news, and behind the scenes Geauga County organizations continue to take steps to stem the tide. Hear updates from experts on the opioid crisis and its impacts on businesses. A series of brief presentations will address topics, such as the current state of the crisis in the region, new drugs or trends and warning signs. Presenters will share advancements in treatment options and resources, and the impacts of addiction on workplace policies and responses.

Domestic Violence Awareness Walk

Oct. 25, 4:30-7 p.m.

Support victims in Geauga County by joining the End The Silence and Stop Domestic Violence Awareness Walk. The walk will lead off at 6:30 p.m. from Century Village, proceed around Burton square and end back at Century Village.

Judge Terri Stupica will speak on steps that concerned citizens can take to help end abuse in their neighborhoods. Many county agencies will have tables set up with empowering activities for families.
