S’Mores is #1 Dog
The Geauga County Auditor’s Office sponsors a contest looking for the Number One Dog in Geauga County. Fourth-grader Olivia Caschera, wrote about S’Mores, her dog who had his leg amputated after he was hit by a car. Olivia shared that she has learned from S’Mores that being different doesn’t need to be an obstacle.
At an all-school assembly on Dec. 4, Olivia, her brother, Matteo, and S’Mores were recognized by the Geauga County Auditor’s Office, Rescue Village, the Dog Warden and a representative from Congressman David Joyce’s office. Everyone at NDES is proud of Olivia for her accomplishments.
Sharing a Love of Reading
Fourth-grade students are continuing the tradition of sending new or gently used books to fellow fourth-graders at Metro Catholic School. This year, they will be including a personalized bookmark to accompany each book. The students are excited to make the season a little bit brighter to those in need.
CPM Math Gallery Walk
Students in seventh-grade college preparatory math course 3 were asked to extend a challenging pattern. They collaborated in groups to work on different patterns and show representations of the pattern including tables and graphs. All results were displayed on a poster. Students then went on a “gallery walk” where they studied the posters and shared what they observed.
