First-Grade Science Lab
Jordak’s first-grade pups spent Friday in the science lab with Mr. Claire Zurbach (aka Mr. Z.) learning more about the three properties – solids, liquids and gasses. After some brief instructions, students were split into groups and then had to work together to determine what exactly was at each of the nine stations set up around the lab.
In addition to identifying the object as a solid, liquid or gas, students also had to use various tools to measure each item. Students pulled from recent lessons in the classrooms to properly chart their solids, liquids and gasses from around the lab.

Cardinal Family Fest
The Cardinal Family Fest is back. The community is invited to be part of a very exciting community outreach event for children and families of the Cardinal School District.
It is a fun family event that features opportunities for parents and kids to engage in their community now and in the future. The project is part of a local and countywide effort to promote positive assets in youth and build important skills for the future in fun and entertaining ways.
The event is free and will be held during middle school conferences on Feb. 28 from 4-8 pm at Cardinal Middle School. The day will feature food, music by the Chardon Polka Band and carnival style activities. Parents can check out various local activities that children can be involved in outside of school.
