Geauga Spring Drive Tour
May 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Destination Geauga and 25 local businesses are hosting the 17th annual Spring Drive-it-Yourself Tour. Each stop offers special activities, family friendly demonstrations, food samples, giveaways and special sales.
The event concludes at Heritage Marketplace Event Center with a grand finale filled with opportunities to win hundreds of dollars worth of prizes. Joining the finale with 10 stamps collected at various stops will earn participants an opportunity at the grand prize drawing.

Mother-Daughter Luncheon
May 11, 11 a.m.
Chesterland Baptist Church, 12670 Chillicothe Road, will host a potluck salad luncheon for all women and girls. The theme is “Early Pioneer Days” in celebration of the church’s 200th anniversary. The speaker is Susan Ingrassia, a docent and trustee of the Chesterland Historical Village.
Bring a salad to share. Beverages and dessert will be provided. There is no fee to attend, but a free will offering will be taken for women’s ministries.

Peace Lutheran Plant Giveaway
May 11, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Peace Lutheran Church will host a plant giveaway at the church located at 12686 Bass Lake Road in Munson Township. The event includes free plants, food and beverage and baked goods, while supplies last. Donations will be accepted.
Audubon Counts Birds For Kids
Birders who are searching the skies for spring migrants can apply the numbers they tally to the 2019 Birdathon, Blackbrook Audubon Society’s annual fundraiser. Individuals or teams find sponsors to pledge donations for each species found in one 24-hour period. The 24-hour period Birdathoners choose must fall between May 11 and May 19. The hours logged do not have to be consecutive.

VFW Lasagna Dinner

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve Paula’s homemade lasagna with garlic bread at the post located at 752 Water St. Donation is $6. The public is welcome.
Fashion Show and Lunch

Geauga Dems Women’s Caucus
May 14, 6 p.m.
Dianne Kellogg, director of the Red Tulip Project, will be the speaker at the Geauga Democratic Women’s Caucus meeting and dinner at the party headquarters and social hall located at 12420 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township.
Suggested donation is $15. All money collected will to go the Red Tulip Project, which operates a sober house in Geauga County. Paper supplies for the house will also be collected. Questions? Call 440-226-1051.
Genealogical Society Meets

St. Mark’s Plant Sale
May 17-19
Thyme to Plant plant sale and preview party is May 17 from 7-8:45 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 11900 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township. Tickets for the adult only event are $10 each and include hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
Featured are donated items from members, area nurseries, garden centers and local businesses, including handcrafted items from area artisans and gift baskets and raffle items.
Plant sale takes place May 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and May 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Annual bedding plants, perennials, vegetables, hanging baskets, houseplants and other garden items will be available. Selected annuals and hanging baskets may be preordered and prepaid and will be ready for pick up May 17.

Red Stocking Revue

The Western Reserve Junior Service League (WRJSL) will present its 28th annual Red Stocking Revue, “Happiness is…Parte deux,” in the T.W. Harvey High School theatre in Painesville. The classic variety show is filled with dance numbers, singing, skits and other family-friendly entertainment. Joining the cast this year is the Special Olympics Deepwood Dancers.
Funds raised will go to the WRJSL Community Grant Program, which provides funds to Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula non-profit agencies

Geauga Beekeepers Field Day

The Geauga County Beekeepers Association will host the 2019 Field Day atCase Western Reserve Farm, 37125 Fairmount Blvd., Chagrin Falls. Gain information on beekeeping including bee friendly flowers, installing packages of bees, hive inspections, mites and catching swarms.

RHS Veterans Memorial Program
May 19, 3 p.m.
Russell Township Historical Society will sponsor a program to honor all veterans at the Briar Hill Church located on the southwest corner of Fairmount and Chillicothe roads. Refreshments will be served.
The Burton Middlefield American Legion Post 459 will participate with flag ceremonies and taps by a bugler. There will be songs and recognition of all branches of military service. Guest speaker will be Captain Anthony Paskevich, a retired Marine. Local Girl Scouts and Boy Scout Troop 193 will also participate.
